Thomas Frank issues Tottenham injury update on Udogie and Kolo Muani ahead of Slavia Prague clash

Tottenham are set to face Slavia Prague in their upcoming UCL fixture.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed a major setback ahead of a crucial run of fixtures, with left-back Destiny Udogie ruled out until January after picking up a hamstring injury. The Italian international was missing from Saturday’s win over Brentford and was also absent from Monday’s training session at Hotspur Way, sparking concerns that were later clarified by head coach Thomas Frank in a pre-match conference on Monday afternoon.

Frank revealed that the injury occurred in the closing stages of the recent match against Newcastle. Besides this, their striker Randal Kolo Muani was also seen limping after Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Brentford. Meanwhile, Frank confirmed, about Udogie’s absence, saying:

“Destiny picked up a hamstring injury in the end of the Newcastle game, so he’s out until January unfortunately.”

The timing of the setback leaves Tottenham without one of their most influential defenders during a hectic period in the Premier League and Champions League. It is worth noting that although Frank didn’t directly address Kolo Muani’s injury, he is expected to miss the upcoming fixture against Slavia Prague.

How Destiny Udogie’s Absence Impacts Spurs

Thomas Frank speaks at a press conference.

Udogie has been one of the standout performers this season, providing pace, defensive stability, and creativity down the left flank. His absence forces Spurs into a difficult reshuffle, with the team already stretched by multiple injuries across the squad. Frank now faces the challenge of maintaining balance in defence while competing on multiple fronts.

The head coach acknowledged the demanding run of fixtures, hinting that changes across the squad will be necessary.

“We are also playing a lot of games so there will be a bit of rotation, and I think that’s the right thing to do to make sure everyone is coming full of energy and freshness but also keeping a core.”

Brennan Johnson Doubt Adds to Selection Concerns

Spurs may also be without attacker Brennan Johnson, who missed Monday’s session. Frank described the forward as “touch and go” for the upcoming Champions League game against Slavia Prague. With Udogie unavailable and Johnson uncertain, depth becomes an even bigger concern for the Tottenham boss. (via SkySports).

Spurs Push Forward Despite Injury Setbacks

Despite the challenges, Frank remains determined to maintain momentum as Tottenham continue their impressive European home form. Udogie’s recovery will be closely monitored over the coming weeks, with the club hopeful he can return early in the new year.

For now, Spurs must navigate a crucial stretch without their dynamic left-back, but with confidence that Udogie will return stronger in January.
