Tottenham are planning a fresh contract push for Luka Vuskovic next summer to keep the likes of Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig at bay.
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luka Vuskovic has been making waves in the Bundesliga.
The centre-back officially arrived at Spurs in July after the club agreed a £12million deal with Hajduk Split in 2023. He had loan spells in Poland and Belgium before moving to north London earlier this year. The big Croat had some impressive displays during the pre-season, but Tottenham and Thomas Frank felt first-team football at a high level could get him ready for Premier League action more swiftly- and the idea to loan him out to Hamburger SV is paying off.
Luka Vuskovic has been starring for Hamburger SV, becoming a mainstay in their backline. The teenager, who won back-to-back Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards, scored a brilliant acrobatic goal in Hamburg’s 3-2 derby win over Werder Bremen last weekend. Going by his eye-catching performances in the Bundesliga and the knack for scoring goals, it is justified why the Tottenham defender is currently the third highest-rated teenager in Europe’s top five leagues.

Tottenham plan fresh contract push for Luka Vuskovic
Vuskovic’s stock has risen following solid displays in the Bundesliga. It has caught the attention of Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig and could look to make a move for him at the end of the season.
However, according to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are reluctant to let go the Croatian international amid rising interest in his services. They are adamant that he will become part of their long-term plans and want to make push for a fresh contract.
The towering centre-back has a contract in N17 until the summer of 2030, so the Lilywhites are under no pressure to cash him in. Yet, they want to perhaps reward Vuskovic for his meteoric rise and plan to speak to him about his future at the end of the campaign, the report adds. This exercise would keep the interested parties at bay.

Vuskovic can be future Tottenham skipper
Vuskovic demonstrated great potential during his loan spell with KVC Westerlo for 18 months, and is now doing the same at an even more competitive league. A towering presence with physicality and technical ability, the Split-born starlet has been gaining valuable experience at a high level in the Bundesliga.
It is not surprising that RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund have been monitoring his developments at Hamburg. Fair to say, even if he has a contract until 2030, the north Londoners must look to reward him with a pay rise and an extension at the end of the season. All in all, Vuskovic has all the makings of a future Tottenham skipper.
Once he completes his loan spell at Hamburg, it would be interesting to see how Frank integrates Vuskovic in his squad next term.
