Thomas Frank’s Tottenham have been blowing hot and cold so far this season.
Tottenham Hotspur have been enduring a chaotic season as Thomas Frank continues to marshal his troops at N17. But with a wide section of supporters starting to feel frustrated over the kind of football that the Lilywhites have been playing, the pressure continues to mount on the Dane head coach.
It is not about winning per se; while those have been difficult to come by at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as well, it is also about the safety-first football that the North Londoners have been playing this season. We saw how the Lilywhites surrendered that north London derby game earlier this season, and many fans have been left frustrated by it.
If you know Tottenham faithful, they march along to the stadium in high numbers to watch their team play an attractive brand of football. And that is exactly what has not been happening at Hotspur Way this season.
This has led to many headlines about the former Brentford manager’s future at the club. Many reports have also linked Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner with a move to N17.
Glasner’s future has started to look like an interesting prospect. And Tottenham will absolutely be one of the clubs watching how his time at Selhurst Park plays out.
Oliver Glasner and his possible behind the scenes bust up at Palace

The Crystal Palace boss is out of contract at the end of the season. He recently publicly called out his board. With multiple Premier League and European clubs interested in his signature, his future certainly looks intriguing. And for a Spurs hierarchy already under pressure over Thomas Frank’s position, this is a situation that writes its own links.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, while writing for Football Insider, has suggested that Glasner is likely to walk away at the end of the season. He goes on to add how he has a possible bust-up behind the scenes. They narrow it down to how Glasner went public with his frustration at the lack of backing from the Selhurst Park hierarchy after the Eagles’ defeat against Manchester United. Brown uses this as a hint at a possible bust-up behind the scenes at SE25.
Author Opinion

This is quite tricky for Tottenham. While there are doubts around Thomas Frank, he has been brought in for a long-term project at Hotspur Way. But the decision-makers at N17 might also need to think that if Glasner does move to a big club, he would be off the market for a considerable period. And coaches like him don’t hit the vacancy tag quite often.
