Mohammed Kudus’ classy message about Son Heung-min will hit Tottenham fans right in the feels

Mohammed Kudus expresses sadness for not managing to play with the legendary Son Heung-min for longer at Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur got the better of Slavia Praha in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. Thanks to an own goal from Dan Zima, and spot kicks from Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons, Spurs registered a comfortable 3-0 win over the Czech Republic champions and got closer to automatic qualification for the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

Witnessing the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was special guest Son Heung-min. The 33-year-old departed Tottenham in the summer to join Los Angeles FC after a decade in England. Since then, the South Korean international hadn’t had the chance to bid farewell to the supporters.

Taking advantage of the end of the MLS campaign, Son Heung-min decided to return to north London. The Lilywhites honoured one of the best players in the club’s entire history by building a mural in the streets of N17. Ahead of kick-off, an emotional Son addressed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful before watching his former side beat Slavia Praha.

Mohammed Kudus reveals he would have loved to play with Son Heung-min longer at Tottenham

Kudus was one of the stars of the show on the night. He was a thorn in the Slavia side due to his unpredictability, trickery and directness. The 25-year-old calmly slotted his penalty down the middle as the Slavia goalkeeper jumped on the right.

After the game, Son paid a visit to the Tottenham dressing room to catch up with his old teammates, and Kudus gave an insight into those conversations. In an interview with Hayters TV, the Ghanaian international also revealed Son is a big example to every player at the club and that he would have liked to play with him a bit longer after only sharing the pitch with him during the pre-season tour. A classy message that will hit Tottenham fans right in the feels. Here is what he had to say:

“He is a legend here and it feels really good to have him here. I wish we played together a bit longer because I only had a few games with him in pre-season, but it’s really good to have him here,” Kudus said.

“He is a big example to all of us here in how to represent the club and do our best for the club. It was a pleasure to have him in the dressing room and talk a little bit with him.

“I am just sad we didn’t play together, but that’s football. It was nice to see him.”

Kudus has quickly become a fan favourite at Tottenham and it is easy to see why. Not only has he been the team’s most influential attacker, the 25-year-old has conducted himself very well off the pitch as well. And despite being here only for a few months, the Ghanaian is pretty much aware of the legendary status Son enjoys at Spurs.

Fans only managed to get a glimpse of Kudus and Son linking up during the summer’s pre-season games. Imagine the problems a prime Son and the enigmatic Kudus could’ve created for the opposition if they played together at Tottenham!
