Troy Parrott has been all the rage in recent times, especially after his hattrick against Hungary.
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a striker at Hotspur Way when the upcoming winter window comes around. And the North Londoners have been linked with quite a few nines from around Europe as the Lilywhites look to add more firepower to the squad.
But the latest addition to the list is a striker who is quite a familiar name at Hotspur Way in Troy Parrott. Eighteen months after letting the Irish striker leave, Tottenham are now said to be weighing up a €35 million bid to bring him back to north London in January according to latest report by Fichajes.
Tottenham want to bring back Troy Parrott

It would be quite a headline transfer (if it happens), as one of Lilywhites’ own would return to N17 in a bid to resolve a long-standing scoring problem.
Parrott at the time moved away from Hotspur Way to get more minutes under his belt. But his progress in the Dutch league has forced Tottenham to take notice. Donning that AZ Alkmaar shirt, he has already racked up 17 goal contributions in all competitions this season. Now this is the kind of long-term output that the decision-makers at Hotspur Way are looking to bring to N17.
But it has not just been his performances for his club. Parrott has also been impressing on the international stage. He dragged Ireland into the World Cup play-offs almost single-handedly. He scored that hat-trick against Hungary and followed it up with a brace against Portugal in back-to-back qualifiers. He was tagged as an “Irish hero”. And those headlines have made echoes at Tottenham.
That is where reports from Spain claiming that Tottenham are prepared to test AZ’s resolve with an offer worth around €35m come into the picture. The stakeholders in North London would be banking on him for replicating his antics in the English top tier.

While many fans would be excited, there would also be a sceptical camp given that Tottenham want to replace that Kane presence, and it would help more if they got someone who has proven credentials. But Parrott has also grown a lot in the eighteen months that he has been away from Tottenham.
Getting those regular minutes under his belt in the Eredivisie has helped him get those movements and decision-making right. And now his finishing has become far more ruthless. While it would be a big bet from the Lilywhites if they do sign him, it is to be seen if they do compound on these initial rumours.
