Tottenham have made clear their stance on Luka Vuskovic amid enquiry from the European giant recently.
Tottenham Hotspur have been investing heavily in young talent in recent years with the intention of unlocking their true potential. Luka Vuskovic is among those starlets, signed from Hajduk Split back in 2023. After two years out on loan, the teenager officially arrived at the north London club at the start of July.
Highly touted by the club as well as the fans, Luka Vuskovic decided to go out on loan to Bundesliga club HSV Hamburger in August after sensing he could find limited opportunities at Tottenham following the presence of established centre-back pairing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. And that decision has paid rich dividends, with the Croat enjoying regular playing time at HSV Hamburger.
The 18-year-old has become a regular fixture in the Bundesliga side’s first XI, starting all 11 games since joining them. The central defender’s dream goal in the northern derby win over Werder Bremen has given him more limelight, catapulting Vuskovic into the category of most celebrated talents in the German top-flight.

Tottenham rebuff Bayern Munich interest for Luka Vuskovic
Vuskovic is the third-highest-rated teenager across Europe’s top five leagues, and his performances have caught the attention of Hamburg’s Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
If Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig were not enough, German giants Bayern Munich have now also expressed an interest in the teenage prodigy. However, according to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham have rebuffed interest from Bayern Munich as they consider Vuskovic a long-term investment. They have made it clear to the clubs making recent inquiries, including Bayern Munich, that the defender’s future lies at White Hart Lane.
To end the speculation surrounding the youngster’s future, Spurs are planning to recall Vuskovic during the January transfer window. They would be able to bring him back during a certain time frame in January and talks about this possibility are ongoing. The report adds that Hamburg are desperate to keep hold of the Croatian international, who has arguably been their standout performer this season.

Spurs plan new contract push for Vuskovic
Tottenham are adamant that Vuskovic will become part of their long-term plans. Given his well-documented talent, the teenager has the potential to replace Romero in the future in the Lilywhites’ defence.
As per reports, the Hotspur Way chiefs are looking to make a push for a new contract, even though the Croatian defender is tied to the club until 2030. Yet, they perhaps want to reward Vuskovic with a pay rise for his sudden rise and plan to hold talks about his future at the end of the campaign.
For now, Tottenham must allow Vuskovic to continue his development at Hamburg and not cut short his loan. Rather than returning early to the club and playing back-up to Romero and Van de Ven, allowing him to play regularly in one of the top European leagues would make a lot of sense.
