The pressure is immense on Thomas Frank’s Tottenham to beat Liverpool at home in the Premier League.
Thomas Frank will be eyeing a rousing response from his Tottenham Hotspur side when they welcome Liverpool to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Lilywhites endured a chastening Sunday afternoon in the East Midlands, losing 3-0 to relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest. It was another dismal showing from Thomas Frank’s side, with several individual errors being punished. The result means they have won just six of their 16 Premier League games, intensifying the pressure on Thomas Frank.
The situation at Tottenham is already bad, but worryingly, their next game is at home to Liverpool, who, despite their substandard displays this season, possess a potent attacking unit.

NBC Sports pundit says Tottenham will be under pressure to beat Liverpool
Manchester United greats Gary Neville and Roy Keane have delivered contrasting score predictions of the Tottenham vs. Liverpool game. Neville has backed Liverpool to win 2-1, but Keane feels the game will end in a 2-2 draw.
Now, NBC Sports pundit Robbie Mustoe has given his verdict on the game. He feels it is a “very difficult” game for Tottenham, especially at home when their form hasn’t been great and the atmosphere has been a bit awkward. Being the hosts, the pressure on Spurs will be more compared to Arne Slot’s side.
“Spurs I just think you got to watch look at Thomas Frank you got to see what the atmosphere is like at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium because it can get awkward at home, their form hasn’t been great. So, it’s a very very difficult game for Tottenham,” Robbie Mustoe said on NBC Sports’ The 2 Robbies Podcast.
“Liverpool, of course, go there with less pressure in terms of having to perform. Um so it’s I think it’s bigger for game for Tottenham.”
Can Spurs produce a statement performance vs. Liverpool?
Tottenham will be underdogs on paper against Liverpool. They have a poor overall record in this fixture, having won just twice in the last 18 outings. It is the highest-scoring fixture in Premier League history, with 206 goals scored in 66 matches, and the Lilywhites have very often ended on the wrong side of the result.
With the home form abysmal in the entire calendar year and the odds heavily stacked against them, Spurs can actually spring a surprise on Saturday. Liverpool remain a threat going forward, but defensively, they have been vulnerable for some time now. If Frank can devise a plan that involves playing a direct and physical style of play, Slot and Co. can struggle like they’ve done many times this season.
A fast and aggressive start that yields an early goal could do wonders for Tottenham’s confidence levels at the weekend. What Frank’s side cannot do is start on the back foot and concede first.
