Tottenham want €50m striker from relegation-threatened club, also targeted by Serie A champs

Tottenham’s attacking struggles have continued to hinder the club’s progress under Thomas Frank.

Tottenham’s forwards have struggled to make a real impact under Thomas Frank this season. Aside from Richarlison, who is the club’s leading scorer in all competitions, the Lilywhites lack a dependable centre-forward who can support the Brazilian and genuinely challenge for a place in the starting eleven. Richarlison is the only attacker to have shown any real consistency in recent weeks, scoring five goals in his last eight appearances.

Both Randal Kolo Muani and Dominic Solanke have found it difficult to influence games for the North Londoners this term. Kolo Muani has yet to open his Premier League account since arriving on loan from Paris Saint-Germain. While he has shown flashes of quality in certain matches, the Frenchman is still struggling to fully adapt to the physical and tactical demands of English football following his summer move.

Tottenham are interested in signing Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Solanke, meanwhile, has failed to fully recover from his ankle injury. The England international has suffered several setbacks in his rehabilitation this season and is yet to start a single game for the Lilywhites. This has seen him fall down the pecking order under Thomas Frank, and it would not be surprising if Spurs look to cash in on him in the coming months.

Tottenham aiming to land Wolves star Jorgen Strand Larsen in the winter

It comes as little surprise that Tottenham are looking to sign a new striker in the weeks ahead. The Lilywhites clearly lack cutting-edge in attack, making it difficult for Thomas Frank to build on last season’s Europa League success. Recent capital investment from the Lewis family could allow the North Londoners to pursue a high-profile forward capable of challenging Richarlison for a starting spot.

According to Ekrem Konur (via X), Spurs are monitoring Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen as they aim to strengthen their attacking options. The Norwegian is reportedly open to a move, with Wolves facing the prospect of relegation from the Premier League this season. The Midlands club are believed to value the striker at around €50m as they prepare for the possibility of losing him midway through the campaign.

The same report claims that West Ham are also interested in the 25-year-old, with the Hammers considering a move for his signature. Tottenham could also face competition from Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, and Napoli, all of whom are keen to add attacking reinforcements for the second half of the season.

Should Tottenham look elsewhere?

Committing €50m to Strand Larsen may not represent the wisest investment at this stage. The striker has struggled for form this season, managing just three goals in 18 appearances across all competitions. His lack of rhythm and confidence has been evident, highlighted by a missed penalty in Wolves’ recent defeat to Brentford.

Spurs may be better served allocating those funds elsewhere as they look to build on last season’s Europa League triumph. While attacking reinforcements are needed in January, signing a new striker may not be the most urgent priority, with other areas of the squad requiring immediate attention. As the transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen how the North Londoners navigate the market and back Thomas Frank for the remainder of the campaign.
