Bayern Munich star Harry Kane backed for special reunion with Tottenham by former teammate.
Tottenham Hotspur have not managed to fill the big void created by the legendary Harry Kane ever since he left the club in 2023.
The all-time leading Spurs goalscorer chose to end his long-time association with his boyhood club and join Bayern Munich in pursuit of trophies and the challenge of a different league. At Bayern Munich, the England international has proven once again why he is regarded as one of the best strikers of this generation.
Harry Kane became the fastest player to reach 100 goals for a single club in Bayern Munich’s history, achieving the milestone in just 102 appearances earlier this season. The 32-year-old has become a revelation with the Bavarian giants, earning the first trophy of his career last season.
However, there has been speculation surrounding Kane’s future at the Allianz Arena. The English star has been linked with a sensational return to Tottenham, with Thomas Frank’s eyes on attacking reinforcements. The centre-forward entering the final 18 months of his Bayern contract has not gone unnoticed. As per reports, Kane has a £57m release clause in his contract that becomes active in the New Year.

Christian Eriksen would love a Kane-Tottenham reunion in 2026
Christian Eriksen has spoken about his former teammate Kane, saying he hopes to see Kane back in north London. The pair played together at Tottenham between 2013 and 2020 and were part of one of the club’s most exciting sides under Mauricio Pochettino.
Now playing for VfL Wolfsburg in the same league as Kane, the Denmark international has spoken about what it would mean as a “fan” to see his ex-teammate return to his old stomping ground.
“I would love to see [Harry Kane] back at Spurs. From the outside, I would love to see that because it would be a special reunion both for him and the club. It’s his decision, right or wrong, but as a fan it would be fun to watch,” Christian Eriksen said in an interview with The Times.

Tottenham fans have been dreaming of a fairytale homecoming when it emerged that Kane’s future at Bayern was uncertain. Even Thomas Frank has welcomed Kane with open arms to come back to his boyhood club, and the lure of breaking Alan Shearer’s long-standing Premier League goalscoring record could be too much to turn down.
However, according to a report from Sport BILD, Kane has decided against exercising his £57m release clause in January amid interest from Tottenham. He is keen to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, with Bayern planning to begin talks only after the release clause expires in February.
This would dash hopes of Spurs supporters wanting to witness an emotional reunion, but it is important to understand that Kane is making the apt decision of his career at this moment.
