Brennan Johnson hasn’t featured much in Thomas Frank’s starting XI.
Tottenham have agreed a £35m fee with Crystal Palace for their forward Brennan Johnson. The move to the South London club now depends on the Welshman’s willingness.
The news, first reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic, also states that Johnson has a few more suitors, after the same source had confirmed that Oliver Glasner’s team had set its sights on the Wales international star as its primary forward target for January.
Check out Ornstein’s tweet on the same below:
Having had an unbelievable start to their Premier League campaign under Glasner this year, Crystal Palace have now run out of steam. They now sit 9th in the table, with 26 points from 18 games, primarily due to their main man, Jean-Philippe Mateta, struggling with consistency. And at this crucial stage, signing Johnson would certainly fare well for the South London club.
Brennan Johnson has been out of favour under manager Thomas Frank

Brennan Johnson was one of Tottenham’s best players last season under former manager Ange Postecoglou. In fact, it was Johnson’s goal that won them their first title in almost 2 decades, as his goal in the 42nd minute was enough to get them past the line against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final.
Besides this, Johnson was also the club’s top scorer last season, netting 18 times, and had a G/A of 16 the previous season, his first for the North London club.
However, things have looked pretty grim for the Welshman this year. Since Thomas Frank took over, Johnson has struggled for minutes under the Dane. He has made just six starts in the 2025-26 season and 20 overall appearances, mostly coming on as a substitute. And he’s scored four goals so far.
A move to Crystal Palace could benefit Tottenham, Eagles and Brennan Johnson?
A switch to South London could benefit all three parties. Tottenham would record their fourth-highest sale in history, only behind Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Kyle Walker. Crystal Palace would certainly look to strengthen their attacking firepower, and Johnson could fit their profile. And finally, for Johnson, he would get the minutes he probably deserves.
