Rock-bottom Serie A team reach verbal agreement to sign Manor Solomon

Tottenham outcast Manor Solomon has endured a disappointing loan spell at Villarreal

The January transfer window has just opened, and we are already seeing movements at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs and Crystal Palace have reached an agreement over Brennan Johnson in a deal that’s close to the £35million mark. However, the Wales international is yet to agree to join Oliver Glasner’s side. Tottenham want to bring in reinforcements in this transfer window, and if Johnson departs, they will certainly replace him in Thomas Frank’s squad.

Elsewhere, there has been movement with regards to players out on loan. The Lilywhites are about to recall Jamie Donley from his Stoke City loan. League One outfit Bolton Wanderers are already showing an interest in signing Donley for the second half of the season.

Manor Solomon has been struggling on loan at Villarreal, having joined on a season-long loan from Tottenham during the summer’s transfer deadline day. He has only started on a La Liga fixture, clocking up a total of 146 minutes. And there is a new update on the winger.

Fiorentina reach verbal agreement to sign Manor Solomon

According to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, Tottenham and Fiorentina have agreed on a loan deal for Manor Solomon until the end of the season. His loan move at Villarreal will end immediately, allowing him to travel to Florence and sign a deal.

In another tweet, Romano mentions that a buy option clause will be inserted in the deal, and the medical at Fiorentina will follow soon for the Israeli international.

It looks like Solomon has triggered the release clause at Villarreal after failing to break into their first XI under Marcelino. This has freed him from the Spanish club and subsequently allowed Fiorentina to hold talks with Tottenham over a loan move. Fiorentina are rock-bottom in Serie A and desperately need reinforcements to lift them out of danger. And they feel a player like Solomon would make a difference to their attacking unit.

Tottenham want the diminutive winger gone in the summer and that is evident by their desire to push to include a buy option clause in the potential deal with the Serie A side. Solomon never really managed to make a mark at White Hart Lane, and after impressing on loan at Leeds United and help them achieve automatic promotion to the Premier League, he would have liked to kickstart his career at Villarreal. Unfortunately, it hasn’t gone as per the plan.

Nonetheless, a new chapter in Florence awaits Solomon. Hopefully, the Israeli attacker thrives in Serie A and Fiorentina take up the buy option clause at the end of the season.
