Thomas Frank shares amusing lunch encounter involving a Tottenham fan

Thomas Frank has been struggling to produce consistent results for Tottenham Hotspur.

Thomas Frank is under immense pressure following Tottenham Hotspur’s inconsistent Premier League performances. They are currently placed 13th in the league table with seven wins. The North London side has struggled to find the net. Spurs won their last game 0-1 against Crystal Palace away from home. They then drew against Brentford and Sunderland, still searching for wins.

On the 29th of December, 2025, the Danish manager was spotted having lunch in Covent Garden with his family. Amidst this, he ran into a couple of supporters. Interestingly, one of the couple was a Spurs fan and the other a Brentford fan, as they watched the game on opposite sides.

To stay in the race for the European Qualification, Spurs boss needed to make a winning start in 2026 against his former side. As quoted by Football London, the Spurs manager had said:

“I was in London yesterday and met a couple. One was a Brentford fan and the other, she was a Tottenham fan.” “The Brentford fan was very positive and said thank you for everything I had done at the club. I said, ‘You’re welcome, it’s not only about me, it’s everyone doing things together’.

He continued, explaining the amusing lunch encounter with the fan:

“The Tottenham supporter said ‘keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing a top job, I love what you’re doing’. That was positive. I guess the ones who are not that positive are probably not brave enough to say it to my face. It’s probably a little bit easier behind the keyboard, but the messages that I have are genuinely positive.”

Thomas Frank was pumped to face his former side, where he achieved so much, promoting them into the Premier League, building a reputation for beating big clubs during his tenure, and bringing through some excellent talent to English football. However, it didn’t pan out as he would have liked, as it ended in a drab 0-0 draw.
