Tottenham have confirmed that Brennan Johnson has completed a move to Crystal Palace.
Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed that Brennan Johnson has joined Crystal Palace.
The Wales international has arrived at Selhurst Park on a four-year contract and will take the No.11 shirt for Crystal Palace. It is a record buy for the Eagles, who have reportedly paid a fee of £35 million to Spurs to secure the services of the 24-year-old.
Brennan Johnson was Tottenham’s top goal-scorer in all competitions in the 2024-25 season, scoring 18 goals and assisting seven on top of that. He also scored the winner in the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United in Bilbao, as Spurs ended a 17-year-long trophy drought.
After the two London clubs had agreed a deal earlier this week, the Welsh forward took time to decide on his future. He was subsequently not included in the Tottenham squad that faced Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on the New Year’s Day. However, talks between Johnson and Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner were seemingly positive, leading to the versatile winger deciding to head to Selhurst Park and complete a successful medical before signing on the dotted lines.

Tottenham confirm Brennan Johnson’s move to Crystal Palace
On their official website, Tottenham announced Johnson’s departure to Crystal Palace and penned a farewell message for our hero on the night of Bilbao in 2025.
“We have reached agreement with Crystal Palace for the transfer of Brennan Johnson.
“The 24-year-old Wales international’s name will forever be etched into our history as the winning goalscorer in last season’s UEFA Europa League Final, his close-range effort proving to be the only goal of the game as we defeated Manchester United in Bilbao.”
“We thank Brennan for his contribution and wish him well for the future.”
Oliver Glasner has been keen to bolster his Palace squad, owing to injury to Daichi Kamada and Ismaila Sarr leaving for the AFCON. Jean-Philippe Mateta currently leads the line at Selhurst Park, with Yeremy Pino, Eddie Nketiah and Justin Devenny among the attacking unit. So, Johnson’s acquisition is a big relief for Glasner and will allow the Wales international to revive his career that stuttered at Tottenham under Thomas Frank.
Mohammed Kudus’ summer arrival from West Ham blocked Johnson’s path in the team, forcing Frank to use him off the left. From that position, the 24-year-old’s performances were not good enough, and he struggled to make a mark. Soon, he became a peripheral figure in N17, subsequently leading Frank to deem the ex-Nottingham Forest star surplus to requirements.
From the Tottenham family, we wish Johnson for the future!
