Tottenham hosted Sunderland, and are currently leading them at half-time, 1-0.
Tottenham have started well in their home fixture against Sunderland at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They are leading the Black Cats, 1-0 with Ben Davies, starting for the first time this season, giving them the lead.
That said, here are the half-time player ratings for Tottenham stars against Sunderland.
Vicario – 5
Didn’t have much to do the entire half. Standard 5/10.
Porro – 5
Crossing wasn’t as sharp as it was against Crystal Palace. The Spaniard will hope to improve offensively in the second half.
Romero – 6
Didn’t have much to do in defense. Did well to control the ball and take his time, before passing it to Van de Ven, whose shot was deflected into the net by Davies.
Van de Ven – 6
Did well to hit the shot goal-bound, before Davies slotted his incoming ball.
Davies – 7
Starting for the first time this year, the veteran Welshman reacted well to slot van de Ven’s incoming ball into the back of the net.
Bentancur – 5
Was assured, didn’t really have much to do defensively. Did progress the ball well at times.
Gray – 5
Carried on his confidence from last match. Was decent.
Tel – 7
Lively from minute 1, as he had an early chance, setting up the pace. It was his corner kick that found Romero, who then passed it to van de Ven, whose shot was deflected into the back of the net by Davies.
Kudus – 5
Couldn’t really impact the game in the quarter of the hour he was on the pitch although he looked to grow into the game and trouble Sunderland’s defense. Came off in the 19th minute.
Richarlison – 5
Got a few chances which he couldn’t convert, although he did look lively, couldn’t create much of an impact.
Kolo Muani – 5
Came on for Kudus, and couldn’t really impact the proceedings like Tel did from the left.
Odobert – 5
Did carry the ball forward well, but could have been much sharper.
