Thomas Frank returned to press-conference duties less than 24 hours after the 1-1 draw against Sunderland.
Tottenham Hotspur will be travelling to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth on Thursday. Ahead of the game, the Danish manager is in front of the media for his press conference. As per footballlondon Thomas Frank has provided a fresh update on Dominic Solanke’s return to action.
Dominic Solanke has been out since August 24th, 2025, due to an ankle surgery, and has missed 26 games for Tottenham. According to reports, he is back on the training ground after six months and was seen training with the ball. However, the return date for the striker is yet to be confirmed.
Dominic Solanke finally returns to training
As reported by Alasdair Gold, Frank replied:
“Today you could see in training he’s nice and composed on the ball. In the small sided game, he looked a bit more rusty, which is understandable after six months out. So when he’s back in the hopefully near future, it will take time. Very few players come straight back in after six months out and hit the ground running.”
Solanke, who was brought back in 2024 from Bournemouth, was key to Spurs’ Europa League success last season. He scored crucial goals for the club and had solid all-around performances. The English striker in the 2024/25 season featured in 45 games across all competitions and scored 16 goals, and also provided 8 assists.
This season, Dominic Solanke has only played in a couple of games for a few minutes as a substitute due to injury concerns. Spurs, who are really struggling to find goals across competitions, have been missing their main man up front this season.
Though Spurs have striker options in terms of Richarlison and Randal Kolo Muani, they have not been of the same quality as Dominic Solanke. Spurs have been looking for someone in the attacking area, and they have identified some names with the likes of Savinho, Yan Diamonde, Christos Tzolis. According to a report from the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones, Levante striker Etta Eyong is also on the radar for the club. Frank will be hoping things get better for his side as the second half of the season progresses.
