Tottenham suffered a cruel 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
A last-gasp Antoine Semenyo goal broke Tottenham Hotspur’s hearts as they lost 3-2 to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Thursday evening in the Premier League.
Spurs, on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw with Sunderland at home, actually started the game strongly. Mathys Tel gave Tottenham an early lead, but Evanilson cancelled it out, and Eli Junior Kroupi put Bournemouth ahead in the first half.
Joao Palhinha scored a stunning overhead kick to help Tottenham make it 2-2 after the break. Palhinha’s bicycle kick in the 78th minute looked set to earn Thomas Frank a reprieve, but it wasn’t to be. Antoine Semenyo, who is on the verge of joining Manchester City, deepened Tottenham’s problems in the Premier League in the 95th minute with a world-class finish past goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
The stoppage-time defeat left Thomas Frank visibly devastated as his team’s season spiralled further out of control. This was the Lilywhites’ sixth loss in the last 12 games, leaving them 14th in the table.

Tottenham players clash with travelling fans after the full-time whistle at the Vitality Stadium
After the final whistle, there was a confrontation between the frustrated Tottenham players and the travelling supporters. Emotions ran high on the night, as Joao Palhinha, Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven were all seen confronting sections of the travelling Tottenham fans.
In a short clip posted by Sky Sports Premier League on X, Micky van de Ven was seen engaging in a heated confrontation with a fan seated in the front row. A member of Thomas Frank’s first-team staff ran to the away end and ushered Van de Ven away. Pedro Porro, Guglielmo Vicario and Palhinha also got entangled with the fans.
Porro seemed furious with what was said by a fan and needed to be held back by Vicario and a group of stewards. Palhinha seemed to be playing the peacemaker’s role, talking calmly with a few fans in the front row.
This was not the first time this season that Spurs players and the fans have got involved in clashes. The fans have aired their frustrations several times due to the team’s lacklustre style of play, lack of effort and inability to win games. They were very vocal last season as well, with former boss Ange Postecoglou getting entangled a fair few times with the supporters.
It is fair to say that the Tottenham fanbase are growing increasingly frustrated with subpar performances and results. A large majority of them want to see Frank sacked, or if he stays further, a change in the style of play. The stoppage-time defeat to a struggling Bournemouth side has now only ramped up the pressure on the Dane and his players.
