Tottenham to celebrate historic 1901 FA Cup win with special kit.
Tottenham Hotspur will begin their FA Cup adventure on Saturday when they welcome Aston Villa to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs have not been good enough this campaign and dropped to 14th in the table midweek, losing 3-2 to Bournemouth in stoppage time at the Vitality Stadium. It was already their eighth league defeat of the season, leaving Thomas Frank’s future up in the air. The Dane, under a lot of pressure, will be wanting to see a rousing response from his boys against Aston Villa.
Thomas Frank is already without several key players, and the 52-year-old’s situation became terrible on Friday when it was announced that his skipper, Cristian Romero, has been sanctioned by the FA in relation to his sending off against Liverpool back on December 20. The Argentine has admitted the charge, with an independent regulatory commission imposing a one-match suspension alongside a £50,000 fine. This means Romero will miss the FA Cup third-round tie vs. Aston Villa, forcing the Tottenham boss into defensive adjustments.
However, ahead of the cup tie, Tottenham have announced something that would please the fans.

Tottenham launch special kit to commemorate their ground-breaking 1901 FA Cup success
Tottenham have officially launched a special edition all-white kit to celebrate 125 years since their 1901 FA Cup victory, when they were the first and only non-league team to win the competition.
Set to debut during the game against Aston Villa, the long-sleeved shirt presents a retro look reminiscent of the kit worn by the team 125 years ago. The Nike Tottenham 2025-2026 anniversary jersey is based on a collared 2024 template with a heritage crest and sponsor logos in Lilywhite, and will feature no player surnames on the back.
To support the unveiling and campaign, Tottenham stars Micky van de Ven, Djed Spence, Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus starred in a striking pose. The quartet and the rest of their teammates will take to the pitch wearing a limited-edition retro kit that pays homage to the heroes of 1901.
“To mark 125 years since our ground-breaking FA Cup success in 1901, we want to bring what remains a historic achievement to the forefront of popular culture with what is a truly beautiful shirt, delivered in collaboration with Nike,” shared Merchandise and Licensing Director Duncan Pass in an official statement.
“Seeing the team step onto the pitch wearing a shirt inspired by the heroes of yesteryear is sure to capture the imagination of fans young and old.”
Hopefully, the special, limited-edition all-white kit brings luck to this Tottenham side, and the players succeed in paying homage to the heroes of 1901 by beating Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round at home.
