Tottenham have been made aware of Real Madrid star who’s tempted by Premier League move

Tottenham Hotspur have been plagued by a flurry of poor results in recent weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur have been struggling to keep up with their pursuit of a possible Champions League finish in the English top tier this season. This has been quite down to the underwhelming season that they are having under Thomas Frank’s tutelage.

And while there is the injury side of things to point fingers at, we are yet to see the officials at Hotspur Way bring back the head coach with new faces.

But there is already a blueprint that they are starting to put in place behind the scenes. And that could see Tottenham make a move for a Champions League-level goalkeeper who can compete with (or even replace) Vicario between the sticks.

Tottenham interested in Lunin

Tottenham are looking at Andriy Lunin to compete with Vicario for that number one role at N17

According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, the Lilywhites are said to be monitoring the situation of Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin given the Ukrainian international’s struggles to accumulate consistent minutes under his belt at Santiago Bernabeu stadium. The 26-year-old has already made 64 appearances donning the Real Madrid badge. And he has experience in this game at the highest level, given his two Champions League titles.

But that being said, Frank & Co. are not the only Premier League side that are looking at Lunin. The English top-tier duo of Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest are also said to be keeping tabs on his situation with the Spanish giants. The report goes on to state that his representatives are already exploring options for him, and Tottenham have been informed about his openness to move to England, reportedly being tempted by a move to PL.

Vicario does remain the clear number one choice for now. But this has not stopped the club from starting to explore moves for other players.

There were links with Barcelona keeper Ter Stegen a while back, showing that Vicario‘s position between the sticks remains under question. Now these links with Lunin do confirm that in a sense.

But for now Tottenham have to focus on other positions in the ongoing window which are more urgent. The officials at Hotspur Way have to look not only at the thin midfield but also at what is a thinning attacking roster as well. There have been links with a few players in the past days, but at the moment only Souza is on his way to Hotspur Way, and no other links seem aggressive.
