Thomas Frank is in danger of being sacked by Tottenham after a series of underwhelming performances and poor results.
Tottenham Hotspur’s late defeat to Bournemouth last week saw them fall further away from the race for Europe into 14th place in the Premier League. The FA Cup third-round exit on Saturday was another punch to their gut, ending Thomas Frank and his team’s realistic hopes of winning a trophy this season.
Thomas Frank was brutally destroyed by Tottenham fans after the Bournemouth defeat, as an image of him holding a cup with an Arsenal logo went viral on social media. The Dane’s side have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions, and the pressure is now on to turn things around imminently.
The Tottenham board decided not to sack Thomas Frank after the FA Cup elimination at the hands of Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, as they aim for long-term stability following his appointment last summer, but the axe might fall on him soon if things do not go his team’s way in the next couple of games.
Simon Jordan gives his verdict on Thomas Frank’s future at Tottenham
While performances on the pitch have been mediocre, Spurs’ off-field distractions cannot be overlooked. Daniel Levy, who appointed Thomas Frank as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement back in June 2025, abruptly resigned from the executive chairman’s post at the start of September after being aligned with the club for 25 years.

Moreover, it looks like co-sporting director Fabio Paratici is set for a short-lived return to the club. Having been forced to resign in 2023 after he was given a 30-month ban by FIFA, Paratici returned to north London last October but now looks set for an exit again just three months later. Saturday’s FA Cup loss to Villa was thought to be his final game in his role as the Italian is being lined up for a similar position at Serie A strugglers Fiorentina. However, he is about to see out the final weeks of the winter transfer window.
Now, talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has given his verdict on Frank’s future at Tottenham. He feels Frank has been exposed with both Levy and Paratici leaving the club, questioning whether the Spurs job is too big for the Dane.
“I think I mean on paper and on based upon what he’s done at Brentford, I think he’s certainly worth the investment that was taken in him which was Daniel Levy and Paratici putting together some thinking and bringing him into the building,” Simon Jordan said on the talkSPORT show.
“Where I think the thing where the jeopardy I think for Thomas Frank is, yeah, there’s a section of the fans, Spurs fanbase that aren’t happy. I speak to Spurs fans. Jay, who drives me, is an absolute rabid Spurs fan, spends his time with Spurs fans all the time and tells me that they’re behind the manager and behind the players. There are a few dissenting voices, but as a whole, the fans are going to boo. If you lose a game at home, they’re going to boo, not necessarily just the manager, they’re going to boo.
“Losing to Aston Villa at home in the FA Cup is not a major crime. They’ve still got the Champions League. They’re 11th in the Champions League. They’ve got Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund. They’re going to get into at least the playoff stages of the Champions League. So, they’ve got that to look forward to.”
Jordan feels Frank is worth the investment and should be given some more time to get the house in order at Tottenham.
“I think that Frank is worth the investment of giving him some more time,” he added.
“I’m not sure that the incumbent management that are detached from the football club and have not run it for 25 years, despite making observations about how Daniel runs it, and they were probably actually controlling what Daniel did financially, are going to give him that latitude. We’ll see.”
When asked by former Arsenal defender Martin Keown whether Levy’s leaving the club last year has exposed Frank, Jordan responded: “I think he’s very exposed with both Paratici and Daniel Levy leaving. I think he’s on his own.”
Paratici never wanted Frank as Tottenham boss
One win in the last seven games has heaped pressure on Frank, with fan unrest also growing. Amid the chaos, recent reports suggest Paratici never wanted Frank as the club’s next boss after Ange was sacked. He never felt that the Dane was the right man for the Tottenham job in the first place.
The Italian instead wanted to make an appointment of his own, even though he was not officially back at Tottenham at the time Frank came in. And while there is intense scrutiny of Frank’s position in N17, interestingly, it is Paratici who is set to leave the north London club for Fiorentina, not the Spurs boss, as things stand.
