Thomas Frank has come under serious pressure of late.
Tottenham Hotspur have been having nothing short of a disastrous season in the Premier League. Despite the club moving from Ange Postecoglou to Thomas Frank last summer, the Lilywhites’ fortunes in the English top tier have looked just the same.
Beyond PL, the North Londoners are already out of the League Cup, and they crashed out of the FA Cup after losing to Aston Villa last weekend. The atmosphere around the club is quickly turning increasingly toxic, with fans already losing patience. There is a lot of talk about Frank’s future at N17, which is much more than just background noise at this point.
Going around the lanes in North London, the Dane’s future is becoming a bit of a dominant conversation among the supporters.
And while we think that the club should not take the Manchester United and Chelsea way and stick with the former Brentford man at the helm, the officials at Hotspur Way are already putting plans in place. While their first instinct is to stick with the 52-year-old, there are things being put in place in case Frank’s place is vacant in the next few weeks.
Tottenham to consider sensational Pochettino return
Mauricio Pochettino has been tipped to make a sensational return to Tottenham, with former Lilywhites scout Mick Brown suggesting that the North Londoners will “certainly” consider bringing the Argentine back to N17 if they decide to pull the trigger on Frank. (h/t Football Insider)
At the moment, Pochettino is preparing to lead the United States at the World Cup this summer. But he could be back on the market after the World Cup, and this is where Tottenham see a possible opening.

Poch is still hugely popular among the Lilywhites fanbase even six years after his departure. For a wide section of fans, the former PSG head coach is the closest the club has come to building something truly special in modern history. When he was in charge at N17, Tottenham were regularly challenging at the top of the Premier League. And Spurs also reached a Champions League final. All of this whilst playing a brand of football that supporters could proudly back.
But right now everything depends on the results in the next few weeks. If Thomas Frank somehow finds a way to turn things around, then this noise may die down. Though if this faltering form continues, then the noise for a new gaffer will only keep getting louder.
