Tottenham predicted lineup to play West Ham as star defender walks into starting XI from suspension

Here is how Tottenham could line up against West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate to end their four-game winless run in all competitions on Saturday afternoon when they host London rivals West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.

After suffering an early FA Cup exit at the hands of Aston Villa last weekend, Thomas Frank will be looking for a positive response from his boys against a relegation-threatened West Ham side. Aston Villa were deserved winners in the FA Cup third round, even though Spurs showed fight and resilience in the second half.

Thomas Frank is under massive pressure to spark a turnaround, with his team 14th in the table and winless in 2026. The Lilywhites smashed West Ham 3-0 in the reverse fixture back in September, so Frank will be hoping his boys can emulate something similar this weekend.

That said, here is how Tottenham could line up against West Ham

Goalkeeper: Guglielmo Vicario

Many fans thought second-choice goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky would be given a chance against Villa in the FA Cup, but Frank chose to stick with No.1 Guglielmo Vicario. So, we do not expect any changes to take place in goal and Vicario starting again.

Defence: Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Djed Spence

Cristian Romero was handed an extra ban and fine after red card against Liverpool in December. Having served his suspension against Villa in the FA Cup, the Argentine is set to walk straight back into Tottenham’s starting XI at the expense of Kevin Danso. Micky van de Ven will partner Romero in central defence.

Djed Spence must be relatively fresh to start after coming on as a substitute in the second half vs. Villa. Destiny Udogie is back fit, but Frank may want to go with Spence at left-back against West Ham. The experienced Ben Davies will drop out of the side, but Pedro Porro should retain his spot at right-back.

Midfield: Archie Gray, Joao Palhinha, Xavi Simons

With Rodrigo Bentancur ruled out for months following hamstring surgery, and Lucas Bergvall a major doubt due to a muscle problem, we could see Archie Gray form a double pivot with Joao Palhinha in the middle of the park. Palhinha will be tasked to sit in front of the back four and protect, allowing Gray to operate a little higher up the pitch.

Marquee summer signing Xavi Simons hasn’t got going in a Tottenham shirt. However, the game against a struggling West Ham side could be an ideal one for the Dutchman to spark into life. He will take up the No.10 spot.

Meanwhile, the Lilywhites officially announced the signing of Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid on Wednesday. As much as fans will be excited to see Gallagher right from the beginning, Frank is expected to use him as a substitute against the Hammers.

Attack: Mathys Tel, Randal Kolo Muani, Wilson Odobert

Despite Dominic Solanke being back to fitness, Frank is unlikely to risk him from the start here as he looks to build his match fitness. This means Randal Kolo Muani is certain to replace the injured Richarlison up front, with Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel providing pace, flair and creativity from the wide areas.

The likes of Solanke, Gallagher and Udogie may be introduced in the second half, depending on the situation.
