Galatasaray offered a chance to sign Tottenham-linked forward who has become an outcast in England

Tottenham-linked Premier League forward offered to Turkish giants.

Tottenham Hotspur have a lot of work to do to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window. Fans will feel the Conor Gallagher signing is the start of many positive developments over the rest of the season.

Injuries were arguably the main reason Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League last season, and they have once again struggled on that front in the first half of the new campaign, with key players James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke spending time on the sidelines. Solanke has only just returned from a calf injury that kept him out of action since September, but Thomas Frank lost Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus to thigh injuries last week.

However, having been left a little light on options now, and with Brennan Johnson sold to Crystal Palace and Randal Kolo Muani failing to score a Premier League goal yet, the Lilywhites are in desperate need of a goalscoring forward.

One forward who has been linked with a move to Tottenham is Omar Marmoush of Manchester City. It was understood that Manchester City would consider offers for Omar Marmoush if they secured the signing of Antoine Semenyo.

The Sky Blues have signed Semenyo from Bournemouth, and he has already netted a couple of goals for his new club. Yet, reliable journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Man City do not want to lose Marmoush this transfer window, as he fulfils two roles.

However, with Semenyo’s acquisition, Marmoush, who was already almost an outcast in the team, has fallen further down the pecking order in attack under Pep Guardiola. After Egypt’s elimination at the hands of Senegal in the AFCON semi-final, the forward is set to return to Manchester soon.

Now, according to a report from Turkish outlet Haber Sarikirmizi, Man City have offered Galatasaray the chance to sign Marmoush. But the 26-year-old prefers staying in England and would only leave City on loan amid interest from Spurs and Aston Villa.

Boost for Spurs?

City’s offering of Marmoush to Galatasaray is a clear sign that he is now surplus to requirements for Guardiola. The Cityzens are stocked with high-quality attackers, and after Semenyo’s arrival, Marmoush is unlikely to be favoured a lot.

The Egyptian seemingly understands his current status at the Etihad Stadium, and thus, is only considering leaving City on loan. This should come as a boost for interested parties, Tottenham and Aston Villa. And after recently beating Villa to Gallagher’s signature, Unai Emery and Co. will hope lightning does not strike twice if it comes down to the pursuit of Marmoush.
