Tottenham boss Thomas Frank confirms Richarlison injury.
Tottenham have been dealt another significant blow in what is rapidly becoming a season defined by injuries, with Thomas Frank confirming that Richarlison is expected to miss up to seven weeks with a hamstring problem.
The Brazilian saw himself forced off during Spurs’ 2-1 FA Cup third-round defeat to Aston Villa after pulling up while chasing a long ball over the top. Richarlison grabbed at his left hamstring, went down in obvious discomfort, and after treatment from medical staff, limped off the pitch.
Speaking at his press conference on Thursday, Frank delivered the verdict Spurs fans feared. [Tottenham Hotspur website]
“Richy, unfortunately, got a hamstring injury that will keep him out for up to seven weeks,”

Richarlison joins growing injury list at Tottenham
It is the latest addition to an already brutal absentee list, and arguably one of the most damaging. Richarlison has been Tottenham’s most productive forward this season, registering 31 appearances, eight goals and three assists across all competitions.
He’s the highest goal scorer for the Lilywhites with seven in the Premier League, which just goes to show how he’s been delivering in the only way possible in front of goal in an otherwise lacklustre season.
Richarlison now joins Mohamed Kudus and Rodrigo Bentancur on the long-term injury list, with both expected to be sidelined for multiple months. Spurs are also still without Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, who have not featured at all this season due to long-term issues. For Frank, the situation is surely becoming increasingly difficult to manage, with Spurs repeatedly losing key players in areas where squad depth is already thin.
There is at least some positive news. Dominic Solanke has returned to the squad after his own spell out, while Destiny Udogie is also back in the fold. Still, Richarlison’s absence lands at a brutal time. Spurs are chasing results, chasing rhythm, and chasing a sense of direction under intense pressure. Losing your top league scorer for up to seven weeks is the kind of setback that can derail a season on its own. For Tottenham, it is simply the latest reminder that nothing is coming easy in 2025-26.
