Thomas Frank is facing the heat at Tottenham after the club’s dismal form in the Premier League continues.
Loud boos rang around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Thomas Frank’s men suffered their seventh home league defeat of the Premier League season. The Lilywhites were deservedly beaten by relegation contenders West Ham United in a must-win game. Goals from Crysencio Summerville and Callum Wilson were enough for the Hammers to secure all three points against the North Londoners.
For Frank, however, time is now running out to turn the club’s Premier League fortunes around. Under his guidance, the Lilywhites have won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions, clearly indicating that the players are struggling to adapt to his system. He is under intense pressure at N17, and it appears the time has come for Spurs to consider a change.

Recent reports suggested that the Danish tactician would still be backed by the club even if they lost against West Ham on Saturday. But it now seems that the defeat against the Hammers may prove to be the final nail in the coffin for Thomas Frank, as he has looked out of his depth in his attempts to shift the tide at N17. He has also failed to stay true to his word by not competing on all fronts this campaign.
Thomas Frank on the verge of getting sacked by Tottenham
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has been unable to improve the club’s situation in the Premier League. His side is hovering in the bottom half of the league table, having won just seven of their 22 matches in the competition. As a result, the Danish tactician now has the worst points-per-game ratio of any Spurs manager in the last decade. This only highlights that he may not have been the right appointment to succeed Ange Postecoglou in the first place.
It seems as though Frank is running out of steam at N17 after failing to win over the Spurs fans. As per The Times, the Danish tactician is now on the brink of being sacked at Tottenham following the home defeat to relegation contenders West Ham United. The club’s hierarchy may have seen enough, and the loss to the Hammers could yet again prove to be the final nail in the coffin for the former Brentford boss.
Frank cannot claim that he has not been backed by the Spurs board during his tenure at the club. The Lilywhites spent a staggering £180m on eight new players last summer as they looked to show intent in the market and give the Danish tactician a fair opportunity to build on last season’s Europa League success. The North Londoners followed that up by allocating a £150m “war chest” for the ongoing winter transfer window, allowing Thomas Frank to sign players who could instantly improve the squad for the remainder of the campaign.
It now appears that a change at the helm is imminent. The Lilywhites have already shortlisted several managers who could replace Thomas Frank if he departs the club in the coming days. Fans will hope that the North Londoners make the right appointment this time as they aim to secure European qualification this season and build on last year’s Europa League success.
Will we see a change of guard at N17 before the Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund? Or will Thomas Frank live to fight another day at the North London club? Only time will tell.
