West Ham piled more misery on Thomas Frank by beating Tottenham 2-1 in north London.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have endured a miserable campaign under Thomas Frank‘s management, with the club lying in the bottom half of the table for some time now.
Spurs were eliminated from the FA Cup by Aston Villa last weekend, meaning they have no realistic chance to win a trophy this season, as they are unlikely to go all the way in the UEFA Champions League. Thomas Frank has come under a lot of fire over the last two months owing to dismal displays and results. The Lilywhites have been winless in 2026, and West Ham United stretched that run on Saturday afternoon.
Skipper Cristian Romero scored in the 64th minute to cancel out Crysencio Summerville’s first-half opener for the relegation-battling West Ham side. Spurs improved after a dismal first-half display, but they were undone by a 93rd-minute winner from substitute Callum Wilson to earn the Hammers their first victory in 11 Premier League games.

Thomas Frank issues response to fans calling for his dismissal
It was another bad day in the office for Thomas Frank as his team lost at home yet again. The first-half display was unbearable, with fans watching their team getting dominated by an out-of-sorts West Ham side. There was more energy and urgency after the interval, but not enough to get the Lilywhites out of the rut.
Frank and his team were loudly booed by thousands of home fans at the full-time whistle. The fans have had enough of the misery and chanted ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’. Addressing the media after the game, Frank was asked for his response to the fans’ chants during the game. To which, he responded (h/t Football London):
“We seem to be in the perfect storm at the moment. A last-minute defeat and when everyone feels they have given everything, including the fans, and you get a sucker punch, it’s unbelievably tough to take for them, the players and me.
“I can promise it’s extremely tough for me as well.”

Time running out for Frank…
A few pundits had predicted Tottenham to get the job done against a lowly West Ham side. The signing of Conor Gallagher in midweek was a big boost for Spurs and the fans, sadly, he did not shine on his debut. Pedro Porro was at fault for Summerville’s opener, while goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was extremely weak in the corner that led to Wilson’s stoppage-time winner.
The defeat at the death was deflating for both Frank and his team. An eighth defeat in the last 14 matches sparked sections of the home fans to call for the Danish tactician’s axing. Nuno Espirito Santo returned to his former club and won the ‘El Sackico’, putting Frank’s position in N17 in jeopardy.
