Tottenham are looking to address their problems in attack.
Thomas Frank is finally seeing progress in Tottenham Hotspur’s winter transfer window. He has received a lot of criticism in the last couple of months, but looks to have the backing of the Lewis Family for the time being.
Spurs announced the signing of Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid earlier this week, with the midfielder becoming their first acquisition of the January transfer window. The Hotspur Way bosses must be wary that more signings need to be made this month if they are to qualify for Europe in the second half of the season.
Tottenham’s attack has been criticised a lot this season. Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus have been the rare bright spots in attack, but unfortunately, the duo have been ruled out for several months with injury problems. Moreover, Brennan Johnson has joined Crystal Palace, leaving the gaffer with limited options in attacking areas of the pitch.

Tottenham eye Jonathan David swoop
With Dominic Solanke having just returned from a long-term injury and Randal Kolo Muani yet to prove himself, Tottenham are in desperate need of firepower. It is going to be difficult for Frank to manage with no Richarlison or a prolific centre-forward to lead the Tottenham attack.
Now, according to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are planning to make a move for Juventus striker Jonathan David. They are understood to be ‘leading the chase’ for the 26-year-old along with Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
Spurs are ready to test Juventus’ resolve with significant enquiries for Jonathan David, who is also on the radar of West Ham and Wolves. The Canadian international was a prolific goalscorer during his time in Ligue 1 with LOSC Lille. He netted 109 times in 232 games before leaving Lille on a free transfer last summer and joining Juventus.
However, the move hasn’t quite worked out for the striker. David has managed only five goals in 26 games across all competitions for Juventus. Despite his poor return in front of goal, the report adds that the Serie A side are in no mood to offload the striker midway through the season. They view the Brooklyn-born talent as a key part of their long-term plans.

Jean-Philippe Mateta move could force Juventus to sanction David transfer
As per the latest reports, Juventus are interested in signing Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. They have reached an agreement in principle with Mateta on a four-year contract.
This demonstrates that the Turin giants are not overly happy with their current strikers, Dusan Vlahovic and David, and are planning to bring in Mateta. Should they succeed in getting the Palace striker, Tottenham’s move for David may become feasible.
David may not have pulled up trees in half a season at Juve, but he does have the ability to put the ball in the back of the net when presented with an opportunity. The Canadian has the burst of pace, power, strength and link-up quality, and he’d be someone to give a different dimension to Tottenham’s attack.
Missing out on a player of the ex-Lille ace’s quality could prove costly, especially given their need for greater quality and attacking depth. Thus, Spurs must hurry up and launch a bid for David.
