Tottenham eye €50m winger move as Semenyo arrival complicates 22-year-old’s future

Tottenham are ready to go for an offensive for a Premier League winger.

Tottenham Hotspur have been underachieving under Thomas Frank for some time now. They were beaten 2-1 by West Ham at home on Saturday, leaving further questions over Thomas Frank‘s status in North London. It may now be a matter of time before the Danish tactician is shown the door by the hierarchy, with Tottenham having the fourth-worst home record in the Premier League this season.

Spurs are winless in 2026, and one of the primary reasons for their mediocre displays is the lack of attacking threat. They have not been helped by injuries to key players James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke. On top of that, the club bosses decided to sell last campaign’s top scorer, Brennan Johnson, to Crystal Palace at the start of the winter transfer window. And last week, Frank lost Mohammed Kudus to a quad injury until late March.

This has left the Lilywhites’ attacking options threadbare at the moment, and the Hotspur Way chiefs must prioritise improving them before the transfer window slams shut.

Tottenham offering €50million for Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb

Kudus has been one of the shining lights in a relatively dark time for Tottenham this season. In the absences of Maddison and Kulusevski, the Ghanaian has been shouldering the team’s creativity responsibility. However, with him sidelined for the next few months now, it will be risky to rely on the likes of Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons for creativity.

Tottenham have been credited with interest in Oscar Bobb, who has struggled for game time at Manchester City this season. He has managed just one goal and an assist across 17 appearances. The 22-year-old’s progress has slowed down quite a bit following a broken leg suffered during the 2024/25 campaign. This serious injury ruined what was supposed to be his breakthrough year at the Etihad Stadium.

With Manchester City adding Antoine Semenyo to their attacking ranks earlier this month, Oscar Bobb is free to leave the club now. Now, according to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham are preparing a €50million offer for Bobb. Spurs are looking to take advantage of the Norwegian talent’s uncertain future at Man City following Semenyo’s acquisition, and the idea to table an offer worth €50million reflects how seriously they want to sign the 22-year-old.

The Lilywhites are prepared to offer Bobb regular minutes at N17, along with the opportunity to become a key figure in Frank’s project. The Norway international would likely thrive under Frank, as Spurs favour quick, transition-based attacking football. He’d inject guile and creativity to their attack, as well as provide something different to the likes of Odobert, Simons, and Tel.

The time may be right for Bobb to take the next step in his career and join a club that values his skill-set. Tottenham could be the ideal destination for the Oslo-born talent to unlock his true potential.
