Former goalkeeper claims Tottenham fans now blame Thomas Frank instead of Daniel Levy

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham job is hanging in the balance after a series of disappointing results in the PL.

Tottenham’s season has unravelled in dramatic fashion, with the club showing two completely different sides under Thomas Frank. In the Premier League, the Lilywhites have struggled for consistency, managing just seven wins from their opening 22 matches. In contrast, their Champions League campaign has been far more encouraging, with the North Londoners climbing to fourth place in the group-stage table after defeating Borussia Dortmund at home on Tuesday night.

It is clear that supporters are unhappy with the way Frank has gone about his work at N17. He has struggled to grasp what the club stands for and the importance of its identity. His style of football has not aligned with what the North Londoners require at this stage, especially as they look to build on last season’s Europa League final appearance. The poor Premier League form has left Spurs languishing in 14th place as the campaign passes its halfway point.

Tottenham fans must give Thomas Frank time to steady the ship at N17.

Despite their impressive Champions League displays, the Lilywhites often appear to return to square one in domestic competition. Fans have been frustrated by what they have seen from Thomas Frank, as his side has shown little sign of improvement on last season’s performances. There is a growing belief among supporters that the Danish tactician may not last long at N17, given the club’s ongoing inconsistency.

Thomas Frank needs time to turn it around at Tottenham

Tottenham have, however, shown signs of progress under Frank in matches where they have seemingly had nothing left to lose. The spirited second-half display against Aston Villa in the FA Cup and the emphatic victory over Dortmund in the Champions League serve as clear evidence that the players are still backing their manager as they attempt to turn the club’s fortunes around.

Paul Robinson has now urged fans to remain patient and allow Frank the time he needs to steady the ship at N17 and get his players performing consistently. Speaking on the BBC, Robinson said, claiming that the fans are now blaming Frank instead of Levy.

“Normally in this situation all eyes in the stadium turn to Daniel Levy, he’s not here anymore. So, the frustration when Spurs aren’t doing well, Daniel Levy used to get the brunt of it. Then questions were asked about recruitment, sporting directors who were coming in. Now at the front of the ship is Thomas Frank and he is the one who is getting the brunt of it. He has proven he is a good manager to get this job. The greatest gift you can give a good manager is time.”

The Spurs faithful had grown accustomed to directing their frustration at Daniel Levy when he was part of the decision-making structure at N17. With his departure, attention has shifted towards Thomas Frank, who has become the focal point of fan dissatisfaction at Hotspur Way. Robinson has encouraged supporters to show their backing for the Danish tactician, stressing that he requires time to implement change and guide the club forward.

Credit must be given to the fans for their support during Spurs’ crucial Champions League clash against Dortmund. They were in full voice throughout the match, backing the team and helping to drive them over the line to secure all three points. Thomas Frank will now be hoping that this support continues as his side travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in the Premier League in the coming days.

With Frank’s job hanging in the balance, there is a strong sense around the club that another poor performance could prove to be the final nail in the coffin for the Danish tactician. Will Tottenham continue to back Thomas Frank through a difficult period, or will fan sentiment ultimately lead to a change in the dugout? Only time will tell.
