Tottenham are looking to bolster their squad for the second half of the campaign under Thomas Frank’s guidance.
Tottenham need to bring in reinforcements during the ongoing transfer window as they look to steady the ship at N17 in the coming months. The Lilywhites have clearly struggled to secure positive results in the Premier League under Thomas Frank, putting the Danish tactician’s job under further jeopardy at Hotspur Way. As a result, it is crucial for the North Londoners to back him this winter and strengthen the squad with new signings.
There are several glaring issues within the squad that need to be addressed ahead of the second half of the campaign. The need for a new left-winger and a new striker remains a priority for Spurs as they look to make a more consistent impact in the final third. The club did bring in Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid on a long-term deal to address their midfield concerns. However, it is equally important for the Lilywhites to show similar intent in other areas and invest heavily to secure the right players.

The ongoing injury crisis at N17 has not helped Thomas Frank’s cause either. At present, the North Londoners are without Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall, and Rodrigo Bentancur. It is fair to say that all of these players would slot straight into the starting eleven for the Lilywhites, increasing the pressure on the club to bring in suitable replacements in the coming days.
Tottenham must splash the cash on new players in the winter
Tottenham have so far failed to live up to their promise of backing Thomas Frank in the January transfer window. The Lewis family had reportedly promised a £150m “war chest” for the ongoing window as they looked to sign top-quality players for the second half of the campaign. However, as things stand, the Lilywhites have not made any significant inroads in the market and continue to slide down the Premier League table under Frank.
Paul Robinson has urged Spurs to act quickly in the window and sign players who can immediately slot into the starting eleven under Thomas Frank. Speaking on the BBC, Robinson said,
“He needs to bring players in. There’s a dressing room unbalanced in certain areas and there are players that have to take responsibility for the performances they’ve been giving in recent weeks. Money has been grossly overspent on wrong signings – Frank has been the victim of that.”

The ex-Spurs player added,
“There have been injuries, suspensions, players missing. Against Dortmund, he had 13 players out. Before kick-off you looked at Dortmund, who were unbeaten in seven games, and everything seemed stacked against Tottenham.”
As Robinson rightly points out, Thomas Frank has had to deal with the club’s shortcomings since making the switch from Brentford last summer. The Lilywhites have spent vast sums on the wrong players, making it difficult for the Danish tactician to assemble a squad capable of competing at the highest level. The injury crisis at N17 has only compounded those problems, prompting Robinson to urge the club to bring in reinforcements who can slot straight into the team and make an immediate impact.
Tottenham’s recent win against Dortmund highlighted another glaring issue at N17 that Thomas Frank is desperate to avoid. The Lilywhites named nine academy players on the bench for their must-win Champions League clash, underlining how severely the injury crisis has affected the squad. It has been a major factor behind the club’s inconsistent performances this season, and Spurs now need to invest in new players as they look to build on last season’s Europa League success.
