The Tottenham forward is struggling to make an impact in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham spent heavily on strengthening their attack during last summer’s transfer window. The Lilywhites brought in the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani as they looked to build on last season’s Europa League success. It was a clear sign of intent from the North Londoners, who were eager to make their mark in the market and back Thomas Frank for the ongoing campaign.
However, it is fair to say that not all of the summer signings have managed to impress during their time at N17 this season. For instance, deadline-day arrival Randal Kolo Muani has struggled to prove his worth in the Premier League under Thomas Frank. The Frenchman has looked a shadow of his former self, making it easy for fans to justify his continued omission from the starting eleven in recent months.

The 27-year-old is yet to open his account in the Premier League, highlighting that he may not be the right profile to lead the line for Spurs as they look to turn their fortunes around in the competition. Kolo Muani has often been seen chasing shadows, making it tough for any club to stake a claim to sign the Frenchman on a permanent deal once his loan spell ends in the summer.
Randal Kolo Muani has not done enough in a Tottenham shirt
It is fair to suggest that Randal Kolo Muani has failed to prove his worth during his time at Tottenham. As a result, the Frenchman is now being linked with an early exit from N17, with Juventus reportedly keen on signing him on loan once again for the second half of the campaign. The 27-year-old is also open to a move to the Serie A giants as he looks to revive his career and keep his World Cup dream alive this season.
John Wenham believes that parting ways with the prolific striker could be the right decision, as Kolo Muani has not put in the required effort to make his mark at N17. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,
“We can’t just keep allowing players out, we do need a squad of players, so, only if someone else had come in would I sanction him returning, albeit he’s going to find himself on the bench for the second half of the season. I mean, when he’s come on in the cameos in the Premier League, he just doesn’t look bothered.”
The Lilywhite Rose owner added,
“There was an incident against Dortmund, where a ball was played forward that he could have very easily gotten onto, he sort of stopped and didn’t bother running for it, and Spence ran from behind him to keep it on the field of play. It was just embarrassing, for the fans, they’re just sort of saying, you need to put some effort in, you can’t just wander around with your hands on your hips, not contributing.”
Wenham claims that Spurs should sanction Randal Kolo Muani’s exit in the coming days if the club manage to sign a replacement before the transfer window shuts. The Lilywhite Rose owner believes that the Frenchman would not start ahead of Solanke in the coming months. The 27-year-old has not shown enough during his time at N17, often putting in minimal effort during his spell at the club. He has also failed to contribute consistently, forcing Thomas Frank to drop him from the starting eleven in recent months.

There are no doubts about Kolo Muani’s potential. The Frenchman has all the qualities required to become one of the standout players for the Lilywhites in the coming months. However, he has struggled to adapt to the demands of the Premier League, making it difficult for Spurs to retain him for the second half of the campaign. The 27-year-old has not stepped up for the North Londoners this season, forcing Thomas Frank to rely on a half-fit Dominic Solanke instead.
