Tottenham have confirmed an academy talent of theirs has joined Scottish Premiership club Hibernian on loan for the remainder of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur have transferred several young talents out on loan in the January transfer window.
Kota Takai joined Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach, while Spurs recalled academy starlet Jamie Donley from his loan spell at Championship side Stoke City and sent him to Oxford United. Unfortunately, Donley suffered a serious injury on his Oxford United debut and was stretchered off. Alfie Dorrington’s loan at Aberdeen has been cut short, but he is still at Tottenham and there is a chance of him getting a move before next week’s transfer deadline.
Now, another academy talent Dane Scarlett has left the north London club.

Tottenham have confirmed that striker Dane Scarlett has completed a loan move away to Scottish side Hibernian until the end of the season.
Dane Scarlett has been a regular fixture in the Tottenham first-team squads under Thomas Frank. He has made five appearances this campaign, with the latest coming as a substitute in the Lilywhites’ 2-0 success over Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Englishman became Tottenham’s youngest-ever player in 2020 (later broken by Alfie Devine) and has already made over 100 appearances at club level. He has played in the Premier League, Europa League and the Champions League with Spurs, while enjoying loan stints at Portsmouth, Ipswich Town and Oxford United. The move allows Scarlett to get first-team football after a season spent largely around Spurs’ matchday squads, and it hands Hibernian another attacking option as they try to push on in the Scottish Premiership run-in.
Upon the arrival of Scarlett, Hibs head coach David Gray said, in a 54-word statement: “Dane is a player with real talent, fantastic attributes, and he will provide a genuine goal threat in the forward areas of the pitch with his pace, athleticism and technique.
“We are delighted to bring Dane into the building and we are all looking forward to working with him over the next six months.”
Scarlett is still trying his best to kickstart his professional career. Having struggled to live up to his potential at several clubs now, the move to Hibs seemingly is the last chance saloon for the England Under-21 international. The forward is out of contract at Spurs in the summer of 2027, and if he fails to perform at the Scottish Premiership side, the north Londoners may decide to move Scarlett off their books at the end of the season.
