Tottenham are trying to bolster their forward line on transfer deadline day.

Tottenham Hotspur could be in for a busy January transfer deadline day amid links to several players.

Thomas Frank will be hoping to add a few more players to improve his squad, which currently sits 14th in the Premier League. His Spurs side produced a great comeback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Manchester City at home on Sunday, but it apparently came at some cost.

Dominic Solanke has not long been back in the Spurs team after a frustrating spell on the sidelines, but his brace helped them back in the game. The Tottenham striker may have scored the goal of the season with his incredible scorpion kick, leaving the entire stadium in disbelief. However, he suffered a blow to his ankle after his second goal and was substituted.

Thomas Frank and Co. will pray Solanke’s fresh injury is not serious, but given the squad is already beset by injuries, the club chiefs cannot afford to take any gamble. They must look to bring in a striker for the rest of the campaign, at least, with Richarlison also currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. And the Lilywhites may have just found their man.

Tottenham, Leeds United among Premier League clubs offered Jhon Duran

According to an exclusive report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham and Leeds United have been offered the chance to sign Jhon Duran, who is currently on loan at Fenerbahce from Al-Nassr. Intermediaries are exploring a potential move back to England as the forward continues to be overlooked at Fenerbahce.

Jhon Duran was a hot property at Aston Villa, scoring 20 goals in 78 appearances. Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr came calling for his signature in January 2025, and Aston Villa surprisingly decided to sell him. Despite scoring 12 times in 18 games, the Colombian never really settled in at Al-Nassr and was loaned out to Fenerbahce last summer.

Amid injury issues and limited game time, intermediaries are trying to arrange a move back to the Premier League for the 22-year-old. The report adds Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are the other Premier League clubs to have been given the chance to sign Duran, who is seeking some stability in his career after a tough 2025.

Should Tottenham sign Duran?

Regardless of Solanke picking up a fresh blow to his ankle and Randal Kolo Muani being linked with a move back to Juventus, Tottenham must grab the opportunity to sign Duran on loan with both hands.

Duran proved himself in a short time at Aston Villa that he’s capable of finding the back of the net. During the final six months at Villa, the Colombian international managed to usurp Ollie Watkins as the first-choice striker and bagged 12 goals in just 1,046 minutes of action across the Premier League, League Cup and Champions League.

On a loan for the rest of the season, Duran will be a reliable, low-risk option for Frank’s side. He’d provide pace, power and energy, but most importantly goals to Spurs. As Solanke and Richarlison cannot be relied upon due to their recent injury history, signing the ex-Villa hitman is a no-brainer.
