Tottenham fought back from two goals down to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. Rayan Cherki gave City an early lead in the 11th minute before Antoine Semenyo doubled their advantage on the stroke of halftime. However, Dominic Solanke scored twice in the second half, including a controversial 53rd-minute goal, to rescue a vital point for Thomas Frank‘s side.
The result leaves Tottenham in 14th place with 30 points from 24 matches, while City drop points in the title race.
We now take a look at how the Spurs stars fared in this thrilling encounter.
Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings
Guglielmo Vicario (6/10): Could do little about either City goal but made important saves when required. Vicario’s distribution helped Tottenham build attacks in the second half as they mounted their comeback.
João Palhinha (5/10): Struggled in an unfamiliar right-back role and looked uncomfortable throughout. Palhinha was exposed defensively against City’s attacking quality and offered little going forward before the tactical reshuffle.
Cristian Romero (5/10): The Argentine captain had a difficult afternoon, failing to organize the defense properly as City dominated the first half. Romero was caught out of position for Cherki’s opener and looked uncomfortable before being substituted at halftime.
Radu Dragusin (5/10): Struggled against City’s movement and pace. Dragusin’s positioning was questionable for both goals as Guardiola’s side carved through Tottenham’s defense with ease in the opening period.
Archie Gray (6/10): Worked hard in midfield but was overrun by City’s superior quality in the first half. Gray showed energy but his decision-making under pressure was poor as Tottenham struggled to gain control.
Conor Gallagher (7/10): Showed glimpses of his quality with intelligent movement and energy. Gallagher worked tirelessly to help Tottenham back into the match but lacked support in midfield during the difficult first half. His excellent cross found Solanke for the second goal, which was the equalizer.
Yves Bissouma (5/10): Overrun in midfield as City controlled proceedings in the first half. Bissouma gave the ball away cheaply for City’s opening goal and struggled to impose himself before being substituted in the 68th minute.
Destiny Udogie (6.5/10): Provided width down the left flank and improved significantly in the second half. Udogie’s overlapping runs created space for teammates as Tottenham pushed for an equalizer after Solanke’s first goal.
Randal Kolo Muani (5/10): Had a frustrating afternoon and offered little threat up front. Kolo Muani’s hold-up play was poor and he was isolated for long periods as City dominated possession.
Xavi Simons (6/10): Showed flashes of quality in the attacking midfield role. Simons’ movement created half-chances but his final ball lacked precision during the first half when Tottenham needed creativity most.
Dominic Solanke (9/10): The match-winner with two crucial second-half goals to rescue Tottenham from defeat. Solanke’s controversial 53rd-minute equalizer, where he struck through Marc Guehi’s leg, sparked the comeback before his 71st-minute finish completed the fightback. His movement, work rate, and clinical finishing were exceptional, giving Frank exactly what he needed during a crisis moment.

Substitutes
Pape Matar Sarr (7/10): Replaced Romero at halftime and transformed Tottenham’s midfield. Sarr’s energy and quality on the ball helped Spurs gain control in the second half, providing the platform for Solanke’s goals. An excellent cameo that changed the match.
Wilson Odobert (6/10): Came on for Bissouma in the 68th minute and provided fresh pace down the wing. Odobert’s directness troubled City’s defense during the closing stages as Tottenham pushed for a winner.
Jun’ai Byfield (N/A): Replaced Solanke in the 90th minute to help see out the draw. Had minimal time to influence proceedings.
