Tottenham set hefty asking price for ‘valuable’ 19-year-old amid Real Madrid and Bayern Munich interest

Tottenham will be under pressure to sell some of their assets if they suffer relegation this season.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Archie Gray has taken significant strides since making the move from Leeds United in 2024. He wasn’t an instant starter for the Lilywhites, with former boss Ange Postecoglou taking time to integrate him into the side. Eventually, the teenager went on to play a crucial role in helping the club win the Europa League last term.

Archie Gray has taken big strides in his development at Tottenham in this campaign, operating in various roles across defence and midfield under recently-sacked boss Thomas Frank. The Englishman has racked up 26 appearances in all competitions, netting two goals. The versatile midfielder’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed across Europe, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich keeping tabs.

In what has been another terrible Premier League season, Gray has emerged as one of the very few consistent performers from the Tottenham squad. This is where top clubs from across Europe are starting to look at the North London club’s assets to pounce on them, given that no Champions League football would push those key players to consider a move away from White Hart Lane.

Tottenham set price for Archie Gray amid rising European interest

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham have set an asking price of €60million for Gray amid interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. The Lilywhites putting down a valuation suggests they would consider sanctioning the teenage prodigy’s sale if a club fulfils their demands.

Gray has performed consistently, justifying his place in the side. What makes it even more impressive is that the fact that the youngster has been used all across the backline and in midfield. No wonder he is considered to be one of England’s most exciting talents, and Madrid and Bayern both are set to battle for his signature in the summer.

That being said, given that Tottenham have him tied to a long-term contract until 2030 (Transfermarkt), the club are actually in no rush to listen to offers for Gray. At 19, he is a long-term valuable asset for the Lilywhites, and if groomed properly, the England under-21 international has the potential to become one of the best players in his natural position.

Tottenham fans are fearing the worst, with the club sitting just four points above the Premier League relegation zone. Igor Tudor’s side cannot afford to go down, as it could have serious implications for their immediate as well as long-term plans. If they are relegated in the coming months, there will be several players itching to leave N17.

The Lilywhites could also risk losing Gray if they drop to the Championship. They’d be forced to cash in on him, with the likes of Madrid and Bayern already waiting like hungry sharks to pounce. For now, the Hotspur Way bosses would not be actively thinking about cashing in on the highly-rated talent from Durham.
