Tottenham were beaten 2-1 at Fulham that ramped up pressure on interim boss Igor Tudor.
Tottenham Hotspur suffered yet another defeat in the Premier League, losing 2-1 away at Fulham on Sunday.
Igor Tudor’s side found themselves behind just seven minutes at Craven Cottage, giving themselves a mountain to climb early on. Harry Wilson opened the scoring for the hosts before Alex Iwobi struck later in the half, with Tottenham players heading into the tunnel 2-0 down.
Richarlison came off the bench in the second half to score a consolation goal, but Igor Tudor’s second game in charge of Spurs ended in defeat. The new interim boss has quickly realised the size of the task he has at his hands, with the North Londoners in serious danger of getting sucked into the relegation zone.
Yves Bissouma confident Spurs will not get relegated
Tudor was certainly not happy with his players after Tottenham’s defeat to Fulham, although he rubbished any potential relegation talk.
Yves Bissouma, one of Tudor’s players, has seemingly done the same. The combative midfielder believes Tottenham will turn things around as they look to avoid being relegated from the top flight for the first time since the 1976/1977 season.
“Yeah, for sure, I’m sure we’re going to. It’s details, and we believe in each other, we believe in the coach, we believe in the work he does for us, we believe in everything. So, we know, like, that the situation will change, for sure,” Yves Bissouma told Spurs TV.
“We just have to find the right way to do it, because we have everything. You can’t say we don’t have the players, we have the players, we have a team, we are a group, a solid group. We’ve got everything, a good coach.”
Nervy times at N17
There was little in Tottenham’s performance against Fulham to make any fan confident that this team will stay in the Premier League. Tudor’s side were second best all over the pitch for large parts of the game, and the 2-1 scoreline flattered us.
While our fans will take heart from Opta supercomputer’s survival predictions after the defeat at Craven Cottage, the fact is Spurs have now just got 10 games to maintain their top-flight status. Yves Bissouma, having started both the games under Tudor, will be raring to keep his place in the side against Crystal Palace and help Spurs get three crucial points in the midweek league fixture.
The pressure will be massive when performing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The fans have to be at the top of their voices for the entire 90 minutes to spur our team to victory over Palace.
