According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are leading the race to sign West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville ahead of the transfer window. The diminutive attacker is attracting interest from nine clubs across Europe.
Crysencio Summerville has enjoyed an impressive second half of the campaign, playing a crucial role in trying to help his club avoid being relegated. He has bagged five goals and assisted once in 24 Premier League outings, emerging as one of the rare bright sparks in an otherwise torrid campaign for the Hammers. The Dutchman’s performances have caught the eye of several clubs across Europe, including Tottenham.
Spurs explored the shock possibility of signing Summerville in the winter transfer window after the club bosses watched the winger torment Thomas Frank’s side. However, West Ham were simply reluctant to lose their valuable asset during their relegation battle. And their stance hasn’t changed as the Irons have little interest in selling the 24-year-old if they retain their Premier League status, the report adds.
The Lilywhites must be prepared for what lies ahead in the coming months if Igor Tudor fails to turn the club’s fortunes around. They are now within touching distance of the relegation zone, and there is no way Tudor’s side will avoid going down unless they start picking up points in the critical upcoming games.
If West Ham do go down, Tottenham could have a glorious opportunity to bring Summerville to N17. But, if the unthinkable happens and the North Londoners suffer relegation, then that would extinguish any hopes of raiding the Hammers for the talented wide attacker.
