Nottingham Forest visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next week for a crucial tie.
The injury crisis at Hotspur Way has been the defining point of much of their last couple of campaigns; it is a story that was under Ange Postecoglou, which continued with Frank in charge, and now Tudor is suffering with the same fate.
But the picture at Hotspur Way could finally begin to improve before the Lilywhites go into a massive six-pointer relegation game next weekend.
Tottenham injury news: Tudor could have about 5 players back for the Nottingham game
The North Londoners could potentially welcome five players back at Hotspur Way for the Nottingham Forest game. It is a game which many Lilywhites fans see as important in terms of survival context at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While Tottenham earned themselves a draw against Liverpool at Anfield Stadium, Tudor & Co. were still without 13 first-team players, which forced Igor Tudor to field a heavily rotated side. To give context on it, Souza, who is originally a left back, was deployed in that right-mid role at L4.
Yet the Lilywhites fought on to earn a late point earned at Anfield, keeping Tudor & Co. above the relegation zone, and that showed there is still some fight left in the squad.
But now, the Croat finally has some reinforcements on his way.
Who all can make it back?
The biggest boost will come in the centre of the park and in midfield as skipper Cristian Romero and midfielder João Palhinha both missed the Liverpool game because of concussion protocols as the pair suffered a head clash in the Lilywhites’ recent Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid at Riyadh Air Metropolitano. This forced both of them to miss the game at Anfield Stadium.
But both players will be expected to complete the necessary medical checks in time to face Forest. And having both of them back will instantly give Tottenham a sense of spine in the lineup again.
Adding to the aforementioned duo will be Conor Gallagher, who was another late absentee against the Reds. But his absence was more because of illness than injury. There will be expectations that the Cobham graduate returns by next weekend.
Another player who could be set to make an appearance for the Lilywhites could be Destiny Udogie. The full back has been serving the treatment table for about a month now after his hamstring injury against Manchester United.
But having him back could be massive in terms of that attacking width from the left.
Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven will return after serving suspension for his red card against Crystal Palace.
Given that Tottenham’s defence highly relied on Radu Dragusin and Kevin Danso in the last weeks, the potential of having Romero as well as Micky van de Ven back would mean that Tottenham can finally field their first-choice defensive pair in the league again.
If all of the above players make it back, Tottenham will have a big chance going into the game against Nottingham Forest next weekend.
