West Ham star who tormented Thomas Frank’s Tottenham in January, keeps options open amid strong Spurs links

Tottenham are trying their best to splash the cash on new players in the summer.

Tottenham are hoping to be proactive in the summer transfer window as the club looks to strengthen its squad for next season. There are several issues that need to be addressed within the team if the Lilywhites are to compete at the top end of the Premier League table under a new permanent manager. It is important that the North Londoners bring in players who are capable of making an immediate impact at N17.

Among the many problems at N17 this season, the most notable one has been the lack of attacking threat from the wide areas. The Lilywhites have struggled throughout the campaign to create chances from the byline and provide consistent service to their strikers. The ongoing injury crisis at N17 has not helped the situation either, making it difficult for both Igor Tudor and Thomas Frank to deploy their preferred attacking options in the final third.

Wilson Odobert was in impressive form earlier this year before rupturing his ACL in January. The Frenchman had been making a significant impact on the left flank for Spurs, providing a constant threat from wide areas under Thomas Frank. Unfortunately, the untimely injury has forced him to remain on the sidelines for the rest of the year. Meanwhile, Mohammed Kudus began his career at N17 on a high note before suffering an injury midway through the season. The Ghanaian is yet to return to first-team action as he continues his recovery from a long-term setback.

Tottenham could end up signing West Ham star Crysencio Summerville

Tottenham are keen to strengthen their squad in the summer by signing Premier League-proven players ahead of next season. The decision to allow Brennan Johnson to leave the club in the winter window has significantly backfired, and the Lilywhites are now looking to correct that mistake by bringing in a suitable replacement. With Mathys Tel considering his future at N17 and Wilson Odobert ruled out with an ACL injury, there is a strong possibility that the North Londoners could spend heavily on a top-quality winger.

Recent reports have linked Spurs with West Ham star Crysencio Summerville. The Dutchman has been in fine form for the Hammers this season as they aim to secure their top-flight status. With seven goals and one assist in his last ten matches, the prolific attacker has attracted interest from several top clubs, including the Lilywhites. It is worth noting that he even tormented Tottenham in West Ham’s 2-1 victory in January, when Thomas Frank was Spurs’ manager.

At the moment, the North Londoners are reportedly leading the race for his signature and are willing to meet the asking price to secure his services in the coming months.

Crysencio Summerville has now appeared to leave the door open for a potential West Ham exit amid strong transfer links. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Algemeen Dagblad (via Hammers News), the 24-year-old said,

“Things happen the way they happen. I have taken a different path. Where will that take me? First, staying in the league with West Ham. Then, we’ll see.”

Spurs should do everything possible to sign Crysencio Summerville in the summer. The Dutchman has already proven his worth for West Ham this season, playing a crucial role in helping the Hammers in their fight against relegation. He is still young and has plenty of time to further develop his game. Summerville’s direct style and end product are qualities that many Spurs attackers currently lack, giving the Lilywhites another strong reason to pursue him on a long-term deal.

Will we see the North Londoners make a move to sign the Dutchman from their arch rivals? Only time will tell.
