The Spurs forward will enter the final year of his contract at Tottenham in June.

Tottenham Hotspur finally confirmed Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival on Tuesday, as they were able to end several days of speculation by convincing him to take on the job immediately.

There had been concerns regarding the Italian tactician’s desire to take the reins at White Hart Lane for the last seven games of the season, but the club hierarchy have ultimately been able to convince him to sign a five-year deal, which surprisingly includes no relegation clause. This means he is here for the long haul, even if the unthinkable happens and Spurs go down.

However, that would not be the same when it comes to the Tottenham players. There has already been speculation around the futures of many Spurs stars. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have dominated the headlines in that aspect, while Luka Vuskovic, on loan at HSV Hamburg, has also emerged on the radar of several European clubs.

Now there’s another player linked with a move away from Tottenham.

Flamengo eye summer move for Richarlison

Richarlison, signed for Spurs from Everton in 2022, but has played just 127 games thus far. This is down to his injury problems and inconsistency, preventing the forward from reaching his true potential. Despite all the ups and downs, the Brazilian has managed 10 goals (and 4 assists) in all competitions this season.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from N17 in the last few transfer windows, but so far, he has remained on the books. Things could change at the end of the season, though.

According to an exclusive report from SportsBoom, Flamengo will try to prise Richarlison away from Tottenham if they get relegated. He will enter the final year of his contract in June, and officials at Flamengo are confident they could convince the centre-forward to return to his homeland in case the unimaginable with Spurs happens.

New Flamengo boss Leonardo Jardim wants to strengthen his attacking unit by adding the Tottenham star to his ranks in the summer. The 28-year-old is unlikely to stick around should the Lilywhites relinquish their top-flight status under De Zerbi.

While our new gaffer should utilise the Brazilian international more in the run-in to try and avoid relegation, the centre-forward should still depart in the summer. It remains to be seen what happens, but Richarlison and the Tottenham chiefs will certainly be focused on the relegation battle at the moment, rather than his future beyond the end of the season.

If Richarlison goes on to enjoy a strong World Cup, the North Londoners could then be in a position to ask for a decent fee from Flamengo or any of his suitors.
