The Tottenham midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur have had a season to forget so far, and currently sit just one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining. They have recently hired Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach, but before his arrival, the club are understood to have already made a decision on the future of a Spurs player.
That player is none other than Yves Bissouma. The 29-year-old is no longer a key player for the Lilywhites, and they do not want to keep him at the club. As a result, recent reports suggest the club bosses have decided to let the Malian international leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Having joined Tottenham from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2022, the midfielder’s optional year will not be activated by the club. Yves Bissouma’s entourage are already in discussions with potential suitors as the summer window approaches.

Bissouma showed his quality at Brighton, where he made 124 appearances in three seasons. This led to a move to Tottenham in 2022, although the tough-tackling midfielder hasn’t lived up to the lofty expectations of the club officials and the fans.
Due to injuries, off-field issues and competition within the squad, the 29-year-old has played a sporadic role this season. He was also dropped from the UEFA Super Cup squad against PSG before the start of the campaign by former boss Thomas Frank for persistent lateness. The African star has clocked just 463 minutes of Premier League action across eight appearances for the North Londoners thus far.
Now that the international break is over, a report from Turkish outlet Aspor claims that Fenerbahce are looking to sign Bissouma. They will start talking with the player’s camp over a potential move on a free transfer from Tottenham.
Last summer, Fenerbahce were very much interested in signing the Mali midfielder. However, the Turkish club’s president revealed that an injury to the Tottenham man saw them end their pursuit. The Yellow Canaries had concerns over his fitness during medical tests, which forced them to switch targets.
It seems like Fenerbahce have reignited their interest in Bissouma, but could face competition from their arch-rivals, Galatasaray. A switch to Turkey could well appeal to Bissouma as he looks to start a new chapter away from the English shores. Currently, he is nursing a muscle injury, and it remains to be seen if he has played his final game for Tottenham.
