Tottenham are set to undergo a mass exodus of players at the end of the season.

There is a growing sense around Tottenham Hotspur that the goalkeeping department will undergo an overhaul at the end of the season.

Inter Milan have been plotting a summer swoop for Tottenham Hotspur No.1 Guglielmo Vicario for months. Potential exit talk surrounding Vicario are now gathering pace, with Inter Milan having thrashed out an agreement on personal terms with the Italian international.

From Vicario’s perspective, the appeal to move back to his homeland would be quite clear, given that Inter Milan will offer him Champions League football year in year out, and then they are also genuine title contenders in Serie A for most of the season. And his prospects of representing Italy will also increase if the 29-year-old starts playing regularly for one of the leading Serie A outfits.

Having undergone hernia surgery during the March international break, Vicario is currently sidelined and missed Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Sunderland on Sunday. Antonin Kinsky deputised for the Italian, and while Spurs tasted defeat in Wearside, the youngster impressed in goal.

Antonin Kinsky urged to leave Spurs at the end of the season

Antonin Kinsky suffered a nightmarish Champions League debut last month (a horror 1/10 March) when he was subbed off in the 17th minute after two high-profile errors against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the last-16 tie. Then interim boss Igor Tudor made the decision to get the 23-year-old off the pitch and bring in Vicario.

So, Sunday was a shot at redemption for the youngster, and he performed well between the sticks against the Black Cats. The Czech Republic glovesman made a couple of vital saves in each half but still ended up on the losing side. Amid talk of a new No.1 coming in, with Man City’s James Trafford heavily linked to N17, reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham has urged Kinsky to leave the club permanently in the summer.

“I could see both going permanently. I haven’t seen enough, really. When he has played, he’s underperformed, and he had that huge, shocking moment against Atletico Madrid,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.

“I think it’s probably better for him if he just goes and restarts his career somewhere else.

“I mean, next season we’re going to have no Europe either, there’s going to be even fewer games, less opportunities for him to play. I think Tottenham would be wise to move both of them on, bringing in the established number one. If that’s James Trafford, and you have to pay £40 million, so be it.

“I know Man City have paid £28 million in the summer, so they’ll be looking for a little bit on top, but that’s your number one keeper, ideally for the next 10 years – he’s only 23.

“So, you go out, you get him done, and then maybe an older English keeper as the backup as well.”

Kinsky must leave Spurs

Kinsky is a talented young goalkeeper with a bright future ahead of him. He was signed in January 2025 when Vicario was sidelined with a fractured ankle, and the deal then was considered a bargain. However, things haven’t been smooth sailing for the Czech Republic shot-stopper, who has underperformed when given opportunities this season, bar his outing vs. Sunderland.

With Tottenham planning to sign a new No.1 as a potential replacement for Vicario this summer, there is no point in Kinsky staying at the club and playing back-up to him. For the sake of his career, he must leave the club.
