Xavi Simons could be one of the high-profile departures if Tottenham suffer relegation.

Xavi Simons arrived at Tottenham Hotspur from RB Leipzig to much fanfare last summer and has impressed in flashes but generally struggled to keep his form up. The playmaker produced one of his best performances of the season last weekend in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion at home.

The Dutchman assisted Pedro Porro’s opener and his second-half wonder strike had Spurs on track to secure three vital points in the relegation battle, before a 94th-minute equaliser from Georginio Rutter broke the hosts’ hearts and kept them in the bottom three. Now that Mohammed Kudus has been ruled out for the rest of the season, the creative responsibility has entirely fallen on the shoulders of Xavi Simons. In recent days, though, he has been linked with an exit from N17.

Xavi Simons is reportedly on the radar of European clubs PSG and Bayern Munich. Interestingly, Arsenal, Tottenham’s arch-rivals, are also keen on his services. Now, there is another development on his future.

Xavi Simons valuation emerges if Tottenham get relegated

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Simons could leave Tottenham for just €30 million if they get relegated. That €30 million fee would be a real bargain for any club considering Spurs invested a figure close to €65 million for his services in 2025.

The North Londoners could face serious consequences if they go down to the Championship. Beyond the sporting setback, the economic impact would force them to trim their wage bill and sell valuable assets to balance the books. The sale of Simons would be one of the first decisions on their agenda. The aforementioned clubs would be ready to take advantage of Tottenham’s situation to snap up the Netherlands international’s signature on a cut-price deal.

However, the situation will change completely if Spurs manage to retain their top-flight status. Tottenham may still take a hit if the 23-year-old forces a move away from N17 due to a lack of European football, but they’d certainly not consider sanctioning his exit at around €30 million. Staying afloat in the Premier League would give the Lilywhites some leverage in setting a realistic valuation of Simons.

For now, Tottenham fans will hope that the creative midfielder remains focused on helping the club navigate this difficult period in the Premier League. The North Londoners must avoid relegation in the next few weeks if they are to retain their key players in the summer. The Dutch star is expected to play a key role in helping the De Zerbi-managed side avoid the drop.
