According to a report from SportsBoom, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to listen to offers for Radu Dragusin at the end of the season. The word from Hotspur Way is that they want to recoup the money paid to Italian club Genoa in January 2024. The North Londoners are preparing to open negotiations at a fee between €20 million and €25 million for the central defender amid interest from European clubs.
RB Leipzig are currently the club showing the most concrete interest in Radu Dragusin. The German club will continue working hard behind the scenes to reach an agreement in principle with the player’s camp. They are planning to make an offer in the region of €20 million.
Radu Dragusin’s days at Tottenham are numbered
If Spurs are relegated to the Championship, a mass exodus is pretty inevitable. However, they may have to offload some regardless. There is an expectation that several players from the current roster could move on as part of a wider squad rebuild.
Dragusin appears to be one of those. Since joining from Genoa in January 2024, the defender has struggled for regular minutes and consistency. He endured an unfortunate ACL injury in January 2025, sidelining him for more than nine months. Since returning from a serious knee injury, the Romanian has been in and out of the side.
Under Roberto De Zerbi, Dragusin has barely had a sniff due to competition and the established partnership ahead of him. The report adds that RB Leipzig are planning to offer the Tottenham defender an escape route, but they face competition from AS Roma and Juventus. Due to his past Serie A experience, a return to Italy’s top-flight remains an enticing prospect for the 24-year-old.
The Bucharest-born talent has a contract at White Hart Lane until 2030. This ideally puts Spurs in a commanding negotiating position, but with the player unhappy and the club in danger of losing its top-flight status, they’d be forced to accept a modest fee to manage squad balance and create space for future recruitment.
Dragusin has said ‘yes’ to RB Leipzig
Dragusin’s agent, Florian Manea, recently claimed that the central defender wants to stay put at the club amid exit rumours. A few days after Manea’s words, reports emerged that Dragusin and Co. had said ‘yes’ to the RB Leipzig project. The Bundesliga outfit have identified the 24-year-old as one of the top options to strengthen their backline.
This shows the big Romanian is not ready to continue at Tottenham and wants to leave to reignite his career, which is understandable. The Lilywhites also want to cash him in and recoup funds to invest in his replacement. Hopefully, we will reach an agreement with Leipzig for Dragusin.
From a Spurs perspective, it’s hard not to feel for Dragusin. He arrived with promise, delivered in patches, and never shied away from the work rate expected in North London. But football moves fast, and De Zerbi’s vision is clearly evolving.
