Tottenham fans might have finally loved the sight of seeing their fiercest rivals win. A controversial win in East London from their nemesis has given them a massive boost in the relegation battle.

Arsenal, in an intense battle with their heated rivals Manchester City had to win when they visited the London Stadium to take on 18th placed West Ham. After a frustrating hour, with the score staying 0-0, Arsenal began knocking the door after Martin Odegaard was subbed in.

It finally paid off after Leandro Trossard found the back of the net, following superb work from the Norwegian. It was minute 83. However, that was not all. In the dying minutes of extra time, Wilson found the back of the net through a West Ham corner, and the ref had the goal given, with the score at 1-1.

However, after a long, long VAR check it was deemed that West Ham striker Pablo Felipe had elbowed Raya below the neck, to make him lose balance, resulting in the Spaniard eventually spilling the ball. Amidst a cacophony of boos, the goal was chalked off, and Arsenal held on for the next couple of minutes.

What this West Ham loss means for Tottenham?

Tottenham is already out of the relegation zone, with a point lead, and can now breathe easy. They take on Leeds United tomorrow, and even a loss would mean that they will be ahead with just 2 games to go. With Chelsea game after Leeds clash, this Arsenal win would definitely come as a relief for Spurs.
