The loanee has confirmed that he will return to Tottenham after his loan with SV Hamburger expires.

Tottenham Hotspur talent Luka Vuskovic has established himself as one of the best young defenders in European football.

The teenager’s market value has skyrocketed over the course of the season at SV Hamburger, where he is on loan from Spurs. The central defender has proved pivotal in helping SV Hamburger to a comfortable mid-table position in the Bundesliga. He boasts six goals in 27 Bundesliga outings. That’s not to say the Croatian international neglects his defensive duties, though. He has the best duel success rate in the Bundesliga this season with 70 per cent.

The consistent performances of Luka Vuskovic have attracted a lot of attention from around Europe. The centre-back, who is due to return to Tottenham once his loan at Hamburg expires, has emerged on the radar of German duo Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. There is Premier League interest in the player too, with Liverpool keeping tabs on the Tottenham man.

Luka Vuskovic’s market valuation claim made by Hamburg’s technical staff

Fans are excited to see Vuskovic donning the Tottenham jersey next season. Should Spurs go down, though, that dream may not become true. Vuskovic is ambitious and wants to be playing at a high level after an impressive year in the Bundesliga.

Hamburg have Kathleen Kruger as their new sporting director for the upcoming season, and Eric Huwer, the financial expert on her technical staff, has hailed Vuskovic’s talent. He claimed that even an offer of €70m would not be enough to convince Spurs to let go of the highly-rated Croatian defender.

“My prediction is that a transfer fee of €70m won’t be enough for him,” Eric Huwer told German broadcaster NDR.

Tottenham do not want to sell Luka Vuskovic

Tottenham are still not safe from a possible slip to the Championship, lying only two points above 18th-placed West Ham. When Vuskovic returns to North London, the club could face a battle to keep hold of the youngster.

The N17 bosses rate Vuskovic very highly and have no intention to part ways with him. Contracted until 2030, our club are in a commanding position when it comes to the tall Croat’s future. Spurs are keen to reward the Split-born prodigy with a new contract based on his success on loan in Hamburg, showcasing how much the club believe in him.

However, if De Zerbi fails to keep the club in the top flight, Vuskovic may decide to push for an exit in a bid to continue playing at a high level to fulfil his potential.
