Every match kicked off simultaneously out of fairness, but those plans went out the window. Referee Michael Oliver experienced a communication device failure, meaning the second half kicked off more than five minutes after West Ham had got back underway. Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett exclusively told Tottenham News that these dramatic scenes were unacceptable. “This is yet another delay to the restart of a Premier League game due to a communication kit fail,” Hackett explained.

“With the last games of the season, kick offs, and restarts are coordinated at Premier League HQ,” he added. “The West Ham game and the Spurs game really should have kicked off at the same time at the start of the second half,” the veteran official stated clearly. “The PGMOL need to sort out the communication kits, it is unacceptable,” Hackett declared. “I suggest that with a forty million pound turnover, the PGMOL need to invest in a complete new set of equipment for every referee,” he concluded.

This vital win represented the first home victory since beating Brentford 2-0 back in December. Managing just their third home win of the domestic season overall, they equalled an unwanted record. That marks the joint fewest home wins of any team in Premier League history to survive relegation alongside Hull City in 2009. The passionate N17 faithful will strictly demand massive major improvements moving forward together.
