Guglielmo Vicario could be heading for the exit door at Tottenham Hotspur as speculation intensifies regarding a return to Serie A.
The 29-year-old has been a mainstay in the North London club since he arrived from Empoli in the summer of 2023. For the past few months, the Tottenham No.1 has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan. The Serie A side’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, had travelled to London in April to speak to Guglielmo Vicario’s agent about a switch.
What followed was Vicario reaching full agreement on personal terms with Inter Milan. Things were heading in the right direction before a twist arrived earlier this week. Recent reports suggest Inter Milan have abandoned their pursuit of Vicario, leaving the shot-stopper’s future in a state of uncertainty.

While Inter seemingly opting out of a move means Vicario will currently remain at Tottenham, the door has not been firmly closed on a departure. And it looks like another Serie A heavyweight is interested in his services.
According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Calciomercato), Juventus have emerged as a suitor for Vicario. The Italian international is inclined to leave Spurs, and Juventus want to bring him to the Allianz Stadium to bolster their goalkeeping ranks.
The Turin giants have not been convinced by Michele Di Gregorio’s displays and are considering a new No.1 ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. Liverpool’s Alisson Becker is Juventus’ primary target, but they have cooled their interest due to the Merseyside club’s high asking price. As a result, alternatives for Alisson are being considered, and Vicario has emerged as an option.
Vicario endured another poor campaign in a Tottenham shirt. He made 31 appearances in the Premier League before undergoing hernia surgery during the March international break. Since then, he did not feature for Spurs, as Antonin Kinsky deputised brilliantly and De Zerbi decided not to make a change in goal.
Kinsky played a key role in the Lilywhites keeping their top-flight status intact, and there is every chance the 23-year-old will be allowed to stake his claim for the No.1 spot next season. As for Vicario, his time at White Hart Lane looks up. After Inter cooled their interest, the Hotspur Way chiefs will hope Juventus up their ante and sign the Italian to address their goalkeeping conundrum.
