Tottenham “in contact” with the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt winger valued at around £60m

Tottenham are planning to raid the Bundesliga for offensive reinforcements.

It could be a busy few months for Tottenham Hotspur in terms of reinforcements. The Spurs bosses acted fast to bring in new additions with Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, both arriving through the door on free transfers.

Tottenham’s priority to address their defensive woes makes total sense, but they also need quality reinforcements at the other end of the pitch. Manchester City’s Savinho is the North Londoners’ priority target in wide areas. At the same time, they are also scouring the market for left-wing options.

Recently, it emerged that Spurs’ pursuit of West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville has collapsed. This has forced the club bosses to look out for Summerville’s alternative targets, and it appears they have found one in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham make contact with the entourage of Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya

According to The Athletic’s deal sheet, Tottenham have been “in contact” with the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya, who is valued at around £60m.

Jean-Matteo Bahoya, a speed demon, enjoyed a productive 2025/26 campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt, chipping in with four goals and as many assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. The young Frenchman has previous interest from Saudi Pro League sides Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, so Spurs will likely need to splash a fair chunk of money to secure his signature.

Frankfurt must raise around €100m after finishing eighth in the Bundesliga and missing out on European football, and Bahoya is one of the players they are ready to sacrifice. Tottenham must take advantage of the Bundesliga club’s precarious financial situation and look to get a deal done for the tricky winger.

With Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert unlikely to return this year after sustaining ACL ruptures, Bahoya would be an exciting option to boost Tottenham’s wide department. Without a shadow of doubt, the Montfermeil-born talent could be attracted to the idea of joining Spurs, especially if De Zerbi can offer him a crucial role in the first XI. He will undoubtedly want to play regularly at a high level to unlock his true potential.

Although the Frankfurt attacker’s goal output perhaps isn’t the most promising, it is worth noting that Bahoya has only turned 21 and has his best years ahead of him. He’d certainly improve in several aspects of his play, and De Zerbi may just be the right coach for the Frenchman.
