Should Villa hold firm on their valuation for the Argentine, Vicario emerges as Juventus’ most realistic alternative to their primary target, placing him in the position of a second choice who could yet become the main priority depending on how other negotiations develop.
Napoli’s interest is similarly conditional. Romano describes the Italian club as monitoring Vicario with a view to pursuing him if they are able to sell one of their own goalkeepers this summer, making their approach dependent on an outgoing deal being concluded first. The nature of that interest, genuine but contingent on internal squad movement, means Vicario cannot yet count on a firm offer arriving from Naples in the immediate term.
