De Zerbi greenlights Israeli winger’s exit with Serie A side leading the race

The star barely featured for Tottenham.

It’s been weeks of speculations surrounding his future at Hotspur Way, and many fans have already been thinking about his possible exit already, given Manor Solomon has only enjoyed six starts donning that Lilywhites badge in 2023.

And it looks like Spurs gaffer Roberto De Zerbi has made his decision regarding the Israeli international’s future.

Mass exodus expected at Hotspur Way

Tottenham is expecting a mass exodus this summer as the club looks to rebuild a part of the squad after two consecutive seventeenth-place finishes. And we are seeing a part of it already with Luka Vušković and Lucas Bergvall being linked with high-profile N17 exits this summer.

But both of the above exits are driven by their need for game time, which would be difficult at Hotspur Way for the young pair with the Lilywhites looking to compound a squad that has already added Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke to the ranks this summer, with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes also being chased.

Roberto De Zerbi gives Solomon green light for Hotspur Way exit

According to a recent report from Football.London, Roberto De Zerbi has directly told Solomon that the former Shakhtar Donetsk wide forward will not be part of his plans at Tottenham for next season, and he has given him the green light to find a new club this summer.

Solomon has been struggling since he moved to Tottenham, it was first with injuries and then with jumping clubs on loan until he found Fiorentina, a place where he started finding his feet once again.

Solomon helped Serie A giants Fiorentina keep their top-tier status last season, and he has been linked with a possible return on a permanent transfer.

His loan last season did have an option-to-buy clause, which allowed Fiorentina to sign him for £8.5 million. And given how instrumental he was for them, you’d think it would make it straightforward for Fiorentina to simply trigger that clause and complete a permanent transfer.

But instead, Fiorentina is said to be asking for a discount on that £8.5 million figure. And we will have to see where that goes.

Though at the moment it does look like Solomon’s three years of limbo at Hotspur Way are coming towards a sure conclusion, and at the time of writing the most likely landing spot remains the club that he just helped keep their Serie A status.
